Job Duties
- Under broad direction, leads the selection and development of composites, elastomers, plastics, lubricants, and other non-metallic material systems across multiple complex projects, applying advanced materials engineering principles.
- Drives end-to-end materials development, including formulation, processing, qualification, and field deployment.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in non-metallic materials and processes for molded, formed, and formulated products.
- Leads investigation and deployment of alternative materials and processes to improve performance, reliability, and cost.
- Integrates data-driven and AI-enabled approaches into materials design, optimization, and scale-up workflows.
- Provides technical leadership on strategic material sourcing and supplier engagement.
- Advises on resolution of complex field and manufacturing issues, with direct impact on product performance and service quality.
- Embeds reliability, HSE, quality, and project management rigour across all activities.
- Contributes directly to value creation through technology differentiation and performance improvement.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with ~10–15 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred.
- Demonstrated depth in non-metallic materials systems (polymers, elastomers, composites) and their processing.
- Experience applying data science and/or AI/ML methods to accelerate materials development or optimize performance is highly desirable.
- Track record of leading complex technical programs and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

- Accelerate development cycles through integration of modelling, data, and AI tools.
- Provide technical leadership across projects and mentor junior engineers/scientists.
