Responsibilities:

• To manage and oversee all activities related to Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
• In-charge of Document Control Center (DCC)- ensuring changes in manual, procedures and forms all well updated and distributed & proper upkeep the ISO documents according to retention periods.

A. Documents Control

1) Assisting in managing quality document control system.

2) Preparing and revising Quality Procedures for process owner.

3) Preparing Document Change Notice.

B. Technical Documentation

D. Design and Development

1) Communicating with OM to assess the feasibility of new designs or changes in existing designs.

4) Preparing sample requisition form for design and development (SRD).

5) Organizing review meeting with team members on every design and development stages.

Job Summary

The Assistant QA Manager will assist in managing the Quality Assurance system, ensuring that all marine engineering, ship repair, fabrication, and offshore activities meet established quality standards. The role involves supporting audits, inspections, process improvements, and quality control initiatives across operations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System

• Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and company requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, classification society requirements, and applicable marine regulations.
• Support document control activities, including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.

Audits & Compliance

• Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
• Support external audits by customers, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.

Quality Assurance & Inspection

• Review inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, production, and QC inspectors to ensure quality requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) including HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, SFA regulatory requirements, and internal quality procedures.

• Oversee and verify cleaning and sanitation procedures for processing equipment, utensils, production rooms, chillers, freezers, and common areas.
• Ensure proper implementation of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, sanitation verification, and pest control programs.
• Conduct pre-operation and post-cleaning inspections to ensure production readiness and hygiene compliance.
• Educate and enforce proper personal hygiene and food handling practices among all staff.

4. Audits, Compliance & Inspections

• Conduct internal audits, GMP inspections, glass & brittle plastic inspections, hygiene inspections, and process verification checks.
• Coordinate and support external audits and inspections by customers, certification bodies, SFA, and other regulatory authorities.
• Prepare corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) and follow up on audit findings until closure.
• Ensure traceability systems and mock recall exercises are properly maintained and executed annually.

5. Quality Assurance & Complaint Investigation

• Investigate customer complaints, product non-conformance, foreign matter cases, and food safety incidents.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor product quality consistency, sensory evaluation, raw material acceptance, and finished product specifications.
• Liaise with suppliers, production personnel, and management regarding quality-related matters.

6. Documentation & Record Management

• Maintain accurate QA records including CCP monitoring logs, temperature records, production checklists, sanitation records, calibration records, batch manufacturing records, and traceability documentation.
• Ensure proper filing, retention, and updating of all QA-related documents and reports.
• Prepare QA reports, trend analysis, and quality performance summaries for management review.

7. Laboratory & Product Verification

• Coordinate with external laboratories for microbiological, shelf-life, environmental swab, and product testing.
• Conduct daily physical, chemical, and sensory evaluations on raw materials and finished products.
• Monitor product specifications, labeling accuracy, allergen controls, and packaging integrity.

8. Training & Staff Development

• Conduct orientation and refresher training for production staff on GMP, food hygiene, SOPs, HACCP awareness, cleaning procedures, and workplace safety.

Education

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System

• Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and company requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, classification society requirements, and applicable marine regulations.
• Support document control activities, including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.

Audits & Compliance

• Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
• Support external audits by customers, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.

Quality Assurance & Inspection

• Review inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, production, and QC inspectors to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Monitor fabrication, welding, piping, mechanical, and electrical works for compliance with standards and specifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of QA/QC experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, marine engineering.

Technical Requirements

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Familiarity with marine and offshore industry standards.
• Experience with welding inspections, fabrication processes, and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of classification society requirements such as: Lloyd's Register; DNV Bureau Veritas; ABS.
• CSWIP 3.1 TWI Welding Inspector Certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Lead site quality and food safety strategy to ensure full compliance with FSSC/ISO 22000, MUIS Halal, SFA/export, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and coach QA/QC team and work closely with Production, Warehouse, R&D, and Finance to meet quality, safety, and operational goals.
• Own and continuously improve the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), including SOPs/work instructions, HACCP, hazard/risk assessments, validation, and verification.
• Ensure strong GMP, hygiene, allergen control, food defense, and food fraud implementation across operations.
• Lead internal and external audits (certification, customer, regulatory, Halal); act as main audit contact; ensure audit readiness and on-time closure of nonconformities (CAPA).
• Plan and conduct routine inspections and internal audits for Production areas, storage/warehouse, and external production-related areas (e.g., loading bays); identify gaps/risks and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee laboratory and monitoring programs (raw material, in-process, finished goods, environmental); review results/trends; manage OOS/abnormal results; coordinate with internal/external labs and optimize testing cost.
• Act as Food Safety Team Leader for incidents/deviations; lead investigations, decisions, and escalation; manage recall and mock recall exercises and maintain traceability readiness.
• Drive cost control and continuous improvement by monitoring quality costs (rework, waste, disposal, testing, manpower, packaging) and reducing defects, waste, and non-conformities without compromising compliance.
• Plan and deliver training for QA/QC and Production; build annual training plan; assess effectiveness; maintain training and competency records.
• Ensure strong documentation control, recordkeeping, and data integrity; provide quality KPIs and reporting in management reviews.
• Support trials, process changes, and new product development to ensure safe, compliant implementation.
• Handle other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

• Diploma/Degree in Food Science/Food Technology/Microbiology (or related).
• Certified FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 internal auditor.
• 5+ years QA/QC or Food Safety experience in food manufacturing with FSSC/ISO systems.
• Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, MUIS Halal.
• Hands-on experience in audits, inspections, compliance, incident/recall handling, and training.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; lab trend analysis/cost control is an advantage.
