Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and driven Test Engineer who thrives on complex system integration challenges. In this role, you will go beyond test execution. You will help architect, develop, and automate the testing framework for our next-generation e-payment ecosystem, playing a key role in shaping the future of digital finance.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the end-to-end testing activities of an integrated e[1]payment system;
• Carry out the activities in the testing lifecycle including test planning, analyzing business and system requirements;
• Designing and developing the test cases and procedures or test automation solution;
• Preparing the test environment;
• Executing the test procedures;
• Logging and tracking defects to closure; and
• Conducting test reviews with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

• Recognised degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Engineering with at least 3 years’ relevant experience in executing testing or developing test automation solution involving devices (UI-based or embedded) and/or back-office systems;
• Possess a strong interest and self-motivation to carry out testing with the objective to contribute towards a better quality software/system;
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Able to work well both independently as well as in a team;
• Familiarity with the full system development lifecycle from requirement, development, to testing and deployment;
• Relevant experience and competence with the tools used for test management, configuration management and defect tracking;
• Familiarity with database administration;
• Certification in software testing;
• Experience in micro-payment or Automatic Fare Collection systems using Smart Card; and
• Skilled in executing testing or developing test automation solution, he/she shall also possess either one of these sets of skills: Either
• i. Good capability in developing effective test cases and procedures from analysing business requirements and system use cases; and
• ii. Competent in executing testing activities (including System Testing, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing) which include preparation of the test environment, test execution, recording of test results, conducting of test reviews with both internal and external stakeholders, to logging of and following up on defects to closure.
• Or/And
• i. Competent and having a keen interest in software development, particularly in the area of test automation;
• ii. Relevant experience and competence with at least one test automation tool, to develop test automation application and scripts; and
• iii. Good capability in developing design documents and user manuals which could effectively describe and provide clear instructions on the test automation solution to the end users who include testers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Test Planning & Analysis

• Develop test strategies and test plans by analysing business and system requirements
• Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices to ensure comprehensive test coverage

Test Design & Development

• Design, develop, and document detailed test cases
• Prepare, configure, and manage test environments

Test Automation & Performance

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using scripting/programming languages
• Perform performance tuning and develop automation framework documentation
• Develop user manuals and clear technical documentation for end users, including testers and stakeholders

Test Execution & Defect Management

• Execute test procedures and manage defect logging, tracking, and resolution
• Perform root cause analysis for production and UAT defects
• Identify test gaps and implement improvements to enhance testing efficiency

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Conduct test reviews with internal and external stakeholders to align on quality objectives

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience across the full system development lifecycle
• Strong understanding of end-to-end SDLC processes (requirements, development, testing, deployment)
• Experience in Micro-payments or Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems using Smart Cards is an advantage
• Experience in SIT, UAT, and performance testing phases is an advantage
• Familiarity with DevSecOps tools such as Confluence, Jira, Xray, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms with security integrations is an advantage
• Experience in API security testing automation and microservices security validation is an advantage
• Software testing certification is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
