We are looking for a General Manager, Malaysia to spearhead YouTrip's entry and growth in the Malaysian market, owning the full P&L, strategy and execution of YouTrip in Malaysia. 

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of YouTrip, this will be an exciting and rare opportunity for candidates with strong entrepreneurial spirit to work closely with the C-Suite & Leadership team to explore, launch, and grow our business in Malaysia. This role is pivotal in shaping YouTrip's presence in a new market — from conducting foundational market research and navigating the licensing landscape, to building a high-performing local team and driving commercial growth.

You Will

• Explore and evaluate market opportunities and competitive landscape in Malaysia
• Assist in the licensing and regulatory workstream, working closely with the Legal & Compliance team to manage submissions to relevant authoritiesLead and own the business growth and P&L of Malaysia, through the ownership strategic roadmap of the business
• Own the product roadmap for Malaysia together with Product & Engineering to identify big bets and localisation opportunities specific to the Malaysian market
• Drive business growth by leading bespoke marketing campaigns and striking marquee partnership deals tailored to the Malaysian market
• Develop a deep understanding of the fintech landscape in Malaysia and constantly identify new business growth opportunities
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing local leadership team in Malaysia
• Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of YouTrip, identify and drive cross-functional and/or cross-country initiatives for business growth

• Entrepreneurial Self-starter & Hustler - You are not afraid to get your hands dirty with a "whatever it takes" mindset and no job is too little for you. You strive for the best in everything you do, and understand the importance to influence your team to do the same to push for performance in a high paced environment
• Experienced Commercial Leader - You have at least 10 years of senior team leadership roles in a fast-paced environment, and proven track record in multiplying business revenues. Experience in Consumer Products and/or Marketing in Malaysia are preferred. Experience in Fintech or Financial Institutions space (B2C and/or B2B) will be a strong plus
• Market Entry & Research Expert - You have hands-on experience leading market entry initiatives, including structuring and executing market research frameworks, synthesising competitive intelligence, and translating insights into actionable go-to-market strategies. Prior experience launching a product or business in Malaysia is a strong advantage
• Licensing & Regulatory Navigator - You have working knowledge of Malaysia’s financial services regulatory environment, including familiarity with BNM’s licensing frameworks (e.g. Payment Services Act or its equivalent). You are comfortable engaging regulators, managing licensing submissions, and coordinating with legal and compliance teams to navigate complex approval processes
• Consumer Behavior Expert - You may not come from a research background but you believe in your cultural understanding of consumer preferences in Malaysia, backed by market insights, to localise our product and GTM strategy in Malaysia

• Maintain high standards by thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, including making beds with precision, vacuuming floors, and cleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within the hours allocated by the company.
• Collaborating with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Adhering to safety protocols and environmental standards.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Shifts starting between 8:00 am and 9.00am

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $32.31 per hour
Saturday: $38.78 per hour
Sunday: $45.24 per hour

To work as directed within relevant plant sections to product, with optimum efficiency and safety,
the required quantities and qualities of products

a. Main Tasks
▪ Maintain section in a safe, neat and clean operating condition at all times
▪ To ensure that all finished products meet quality specifications, packaging, labelling and
quantity requirements prior to transfer to store
▪ Follow up with Quality Control personnel with respect to completion of batches for packaging
and dispatch
▪ To undertake production processes as directed such as handling raw materials, batching,
mixing, weighing off etc
▪ To ensure the raw materials put back to the proper location after produce and forklift are
kept in a safe and well maintained
▪ To undertake all production processes according to the relevant Batch Sheets and Work
Instructions to ensure product quality standards are maintained
▪ Participate in stock take as directed by Logistic
▪ Perform other duties as requested by the Production Supervisor. This may include coverage
of other people’s work when on leave

b. Safety
▪ To ensure EHS compliance as per Sika policy and EHS minimum requirements
▪ Reports any hazards immediately adhering to superior or EHS personnel

Operations

• Support the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing day-to-day housekeeping operations across guestrooms, public areas, laundry, linen, uniforms, and floral services
• Ensure implementation and adherence to Housekeeping SOPs and brand standards
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards
• Monitor guest requests and feedback, ensuring timely follow-up and service recovery where required
• Ensure VIP guests, repeat guests, and priority members receive appropriate attention and service
• Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, and Laundry to ensure smooth operations and accurate room status
• Monitor usage of linen, guest supplies, and cleaning materials in line with cost control guidelines
• Assist in planning and supervising deep cleaning and preventive maintenance programs

Team Management

• Support the Executive Housekeeper in supervising and guiding the housekeeping team
• Assist in preparing staff schedules and allocating daily tasks to ensure operational efficiency
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to improve team performance and service delivery
• Ensure grooming, discipline, and performance standards are maintained
• Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance review processes

Administration & Control

• Assist in monitoring departmental expenses in line with the approved budget
• Maintain accurate records including inspections, lost & found, attendance, payroll inputs, and productivity reports
• Support preparation of reports, audits, and documentation as required
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and hygiene standards (including key control and emergency procedures)
• Supervise external contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with hotel policies and standards

Communication & Support Role

• Maintain effective communication with all departments regarding housekeeping operations
• Keep the Executive Housekeeper informed of operational issues and follow up on action plans
• Act on behalf of the Executive Housekeeper in their absence as assigned
