What you will be doing
Oversee building systems, preventative maintenance programs, compliance, project, and asset lifecycle management. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong technical capability, commercial thinking and the ability to lead and inspire a skilled Engineering team.
- Lead and manage the hotel’s Engineering department
- Drive a proactive preventative maintenance strategy to protect asset quality and reduce downtime
- Ensure full compliance with workplace health & safety, building regulations and statutory requirements
- Oversee plant, equipment and building systems, including HVAC, electrical, hydraulics and fire systems
- Manage external contractors, service agreements and engineering budgets
- Lead capital works, refurbishment projects and asset improvement initiatives
- Work closely with operational leaders to ensure engineering supports seamless guest experiences
- Develop and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
- Support energy management, sustainability and efficiency initiatives
- Respond to guest and operational issues with urgency, professionalism and practical solutions
