The Role

This is a full-time, on-site role located in either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur for a Machine Learning Engineer (Autonomy). At Wingfin, our deep learning models provide the foundation for safe, reliable driving. However, the real world is full of "long tail" events—unstructured construction zones, complex hand signals from a traffic officer, or unique local maneuvers. • Diploma/Graduate Degree in engineering discipline (Electrical/Instrument) or equivalent technical work experience in the electrical/instrumentation trade
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of Project execution/construction experience for Instrumentation & Systems. Experience in Bukom and il & Gas Added Advantage
• Strong Planning, Coordination and Stakeholder management skills in managing and executing projects with significant Instrumentation and Systems scope. The instrumentation execution engineer is expected to lead the front in all matters of instrumentation execution including the developing of the execution plan.
• Strong understanding of field installation, construction, and commissioning of instrumentation. This includes quality control/full functional testing, complex troubleshooting of field equipment, FAT/SAT.
• Execution Experience in a major turnaround Added Advantage
• Experience with DCS/IPS/SCADA/F&G systems is mandatory. Ability to understand and articulate complexities and risks during new instrumentation/logic tie ins to existing LIVE systems.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join our Model Engineering Team with a focus on Computer Vision and modern AI. This role is designed for builders who are passionate about training deep learning models, refining architectures, and scaling real-world vision systems.

You will work closely with experienced engineers on production-grade models, ranging from standard object detectors to cutting-edge zero-shot and open-vocabulary architectures. This is an ideal role for those who enjoy running experiments, analysing model behaviour, and driving measurable performance improvements.

What You’ll Do

• Model Training & Fine-Tuning: Train, evaluate, and improve deep learning models across a variety of tasks, including classification, object detection, segmentation, and action recognition.
• Architecture & AI Exploration: Research and experiment with CNNs, Transformers, and Foundation Models. You will explore the integration of modern AI to enhance open-vocabulary detection and zero-shot capabilities.
• Failure Analysis & Data Refinement: Debug model failures (false positives/negatives) and implement solutions through targeted data annotation, cleaning, or improved inference strategies to ensure model robustness.
• Data & ML Engineering: Manage large-scale datasets, including preprocessing and versioning, to ensure high-fidelity and reproducible experiments.
• Pipeline Automation: Contribute to the development and optimization of automated training and evaluation pipelines to improve reliability and deployment efficiency.

• Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
• Strong interest in deep learning model training, experimentation, and data-centric AI.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Competency in a Linux environment (SSH, shell scripting, and CLI-based file management).

Bonus Points

• Hands-on Experience: Previous work with specialized CV frameworks or comparing multiple architectures.
• Modern AI Knowledge: Familiarity with vision-language models or zero-shot detection.
• MLOps Tools: Experience with Git, Docker, or experiment tracking tools (e.g., Weights & Biases, MLflow).
• Video Processing: Knowledge of OpenCV, FFmpeg, or handling video streams.

Internship Details

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the Facilities related utilities Hook Up tasks include review of Tools’ schematic drawings and specified parameters.

• Conduct daily toolbox meeting with assigned vendors and monitor Permit to Work system and effectiveness.

• Supervise Hook Up contracts and Service providers including M&E, UPW, Gas, Chemical, Exhaust and Industrial Waste / drainage systems.

• Ensure team approach to work with other stakeholders, IE, Process, EHS and facilities operations team to effectively manage Tools Hook Up related assigned tasks.

• Develop and implement Facilities Hook Up programs leading to improve safety, quality and cost.

• Proactively identify improvements and make use of information systems that increase efficiency and effectiveness of the Hook Up tasks.

• Ensure that a safe, reliable, and collaborative work environment is a top priority, and is managed effectively and maintained, including contractors.

• Participate in review of Facilities Hook Up Standard Operating Procedures and ensure compliance to SOP.

• Utilize existing databases for coordinating and tracking work.

• Research and evaluate latest industry trends. Implement and share best practices of Hook Up tasks execution.

• Work effectively across organizations and sites to promote best practice sharing.

• Be a key contributor in the Facilities disaster management and business recovery process.

• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of related experience supporting semiconductor, solar, or other similar manufacturing facilities.

• Technical training in plant engineering or maintenance, or comparable professional experience.

• Able to manage materials which contain hazardous chemicals.

• Self-directed, self-motivated, and self-managing with ability to simultaneously prioritize tactical and strategic objectives.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
