Job Scope :

• Conduct routine checks on chiller operations, including chilled and cooling water temperatures, and inspect all service line utilities (water, compressed air, and natural gas) for leakage. Any defects or problem must be reported immediately to the Supervisor / HOD.
• Check and record compressor operating parameters, including pressure, temperature, motor current (ampere), slide valve position, motor speed, oil level, and running hours.
• Carry out water analysis for town water samples, including town water, drinking water, cereal water, and DPRS water.
• Record water meter readings daily.
• Attend breakdown plant in case trip or power down.
• Handel ammonia chiller troubleshooting isolation valve check area leaking & fix leaking area.
• Measure and record water conductivity, pH, and ORP for cooling towers (SA, RM, Nescafe, and chilled water systems), and inspect and clean water filters.
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE when working with chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and ammonia or other work that requires PPE.
• Report any accidents or safety incidents immediately to the Supervisor / HOD.

Job Summary

The Maintenance / Instrument Technician / or Assistant Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of all facility and production equipment systems, including HVAC (chiller systems), electrical, mechanical, and plumbing infrastructure. This role supports continuous manufacturing operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and coordinating repair activities to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintenance & Repair

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs on HVAC systems (including chiller systems), electrical systems (including 3-phase), and mechanical equipment.

2. Troubleshooting & Breakdown Response

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify equipment faults and system breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.

3. Monitoring & Inspection

• Conduct routine inspections and facility walkthroughs to identify abnormalities such as unusual noise, vibration, heat, or leaks.

4. Contractor & Vendor Coordination

• Supervise and coordinate external contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, calibration, and facility improvement works.

• Adhere to and enforce all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO).

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, logs, and checklists.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely replenishment of critical components.

7. Continuous Improvement

• Support initiatives to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and maintenance practices.

Job Requirements

Education

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in facility or equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC (chiller systems), electrical (3-phase), and mechanical systems.

• Minimum Diploma or Certificate in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field).
• At least 1–3 years of working experience in factory facilities, utilities, or maintenance environment.
• Basic knowledge of facility systems such as electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, and wastewater treatment systems.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance (PM) practices and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements and regulatory standards is an added advantage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support production needs.
• Willing to work on shifts, on-call, or during emergency situations when required.
• Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
