Position: Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Designer

Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Design Engineer to join our team in Singapore for a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of I&C systems for our projects. This role requires a strong understanding of instrumentation principles, control systems, and relevant industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
**Detailed Design & Drafting:** Prepare and develop a wide array of Instrumentation & Control drawings and documents for Combined Cycle, Cogen, and Thermal Power Plants, including but not limited to:
Plant Control System Configuration diagrams
Control Room and Electronic Equipment Room layouts
Instrument and Junction Box location plans
Instrument and Control Cable schedules
Instrument cable routing drawings
Instrument Hook-up drawings
Instrument Loop diagrams
Instrument Grounding drawings
Control Logic Diagrams
CCTV and Communication system block diagrams and layouts
**Bill of Quantities (BOQ) Estimation:** Accurately estimate Instrument BOQ for junction boxes, instrument installation materials, instrument & control cables, and communication cables.
**3D Modelling Input:** Provide essential inputs for the 3D modelling of instrumentation items to support piping design.
**Schedule Management:** Proactively monitor drawing schedules, ensuring timely submission of all drawings and documents to the project coordinator to meet project milestones.
**Interdisciplinary Collaboration:** Foster effective collaboration and coordination with various engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, piping) and the site team throughout the detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
**Software Proficiency:** Utilize industry-standard software for design and documentation tasks, with a strong preference for Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).
**Compliance & Standards:** Ensure all designs and documentation strictly adhere to relevant industry standards, best practices, and specific Singapore regulations.
**Ad-hoc Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to overall project success.
Qualifications:
**Education:** Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Systems or an equivalent qualification.
**Experience:** A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in EPC power plant and/or industrial plant projects.
**Regulatory Knowledge:** Strong familiarity with Singapore regulations and practices pertaining to instrumentation and control within power generation facilities.
**Technical Expertise:** Proven hands-on experience in the detailed design and drafting of the I&C drawings and documents as outlined in the responsibilities section.
**Core Knowledge:** Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of instrumentation and control principles and their applications in power plants.
**Software Skills:** Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is essential. Experience with industrial software such as Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) is highly desirable.
**Interpersonal Skills:** Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
**Analytical Acumen:** Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities to address complex design challenges effectively.
