He/she represents Tuas QC unit and collaborates with global/Belgium QC as well as global Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) in all areas of QC validation and operation. The QC Specialist / Senior QC Specialist ensures that all aspects of QC testing of the new projects, test method validation, analytical equipment qualification, analytical method transfer, laboratory and analytical capacity are successfully completed. Project Management

• Leads method validation, development, verification, transfer and new equipment / technology introduction. Performs testing for project related activities as required.

• Provides expertise and consultation to projects team on technical QC matters to ensure compliance to applicable corporate, regulatory and external agency regulations.

• Ensures timely implementation of the projects with full compliance to corporate, regulatory and external agency regulations if applicable.

QC Operation

• Anticipate, plan and execute the transition from a project mode to routine mode in terms of QC operations.

• Knowledge management on knowledge retention and effective training to ensure methods/ knowledge are effectively transferred to routine testing team.

Job Summary

The Production Engineer supports and optimizes daily electroplating operations to ensure consistent product quality, efficient production flow, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. The role requires strong knowledge of plating processes, chemical bath control, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Parameter Control

• Perform daily checks on all process parameters (temperature, pH, current, bath levels, flow, pump condition).

• Audit operators to ensure each process step is carried out according to specification and SOP.

• Train operators on proper equipment usage: valve operation, pump priming and air-trap checks, chiller operation, and basic line troubleshooting.

• Ensure timely correction actions when deviations are found.

2. Process Optimization

• Identify opportunities to improve loading efficiency (fixture design, part orientation, racking method).

• Work with Production and Process Engineering to increase throughput and reduce bottlenecks.

• Support improvements on cycle time, workflow, and chemical usage.

3. Quality Troubleshooting

• Participate in root-cause investigations for defects (e.g., poor adhesion, uneven colour, stains, white spots, roughness).

• Work closely with QA to verify findings and implement corrective actions.

• Escalate complex technical issues to senior Process Engineers when deeper subject expertise is required.

4. Equipment & Line Readiness

• Support preventive maintenance activities for pumps, agitators, rectifiers, chillers, filtration systems, and plating/anodizing tanks.

• Assist maintenance team in diagnosing equipment abnormalities that affect production stability.

• Ensure calibration of basic instruments (pH meter, conductivity, thickness gauges) is done on time.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Complete production forms, bath check sheets, process logs, and operator audit records accurately.

• Update SOPs and work instructions when process changes occur.

• Prepare daily reports on process status, defects, and deviations.

6. Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Ensure safe handling of parts, chemicals, jigs, and equipment.

• Follow SDS and internal EHS requirements for chemical storage and disposal.

• Support EHS team during inspections (wastewater, ventilation, PPE compliance).

• Conduct on-the-job safety briefings for operators.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.

• 1–5 years’ experience in plating/electroplating, surface finishing, or chemical processing preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for processing a variety of bulk liquid waste through the operation of Distillation Unit resulting in the best possible recovery of customers' hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Run distillation units by connecting feed, product, and sludge tanks and apply proper amount of heat from boilers and maintain operating hourly logs to ensure that unit is operating at peak efficiency.
• Charge and discharge waste with appropriate amounts of liquid to run product to specifications.
• Perform compatibility testing on a variety of hazardous materials to be mixed for recovery to ensure that mixtures are in compliance with recovery specifications.
• Collect recovery samples and route to laboratory along with appropriate paperwork to ascertain the quality of recovery.
• Load, unload, and sample bulk tankers/drums/totes to ascertain accuracy of hazardous materials contents prior to applying the recovery process.
• Other duties as assigned in DU and/or by the Production Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Min 3 – 5 years experience in DU operations is preferred.
