JOB DESCRIPTION :

1. To head the technical department of Port Klang, Merlimau, Pasir Gudang (thinner blending section) and Ipoh.

2. Supervising Senior Chemist and Chemist on R&D work.

3. Report chemical division research and development to Deputy General Manager and Executive director.

4. Report building division research and development to Deputy General Manager and Executive Director.

5. Supervising for QA and QC matter.

6. Design new product brochure, packing/label and prepare specification for building material.

7. Assist Sales department on customer service/complaint and technical support.

8. Provide advice on trouble-shooting for production.

9. Liaise with sales department for exploring on new product.

10. Assist sales department or management on technical issue for new market.

11. Prepare technical document if necessary for other business company requested by management.

12. Conduct technical orientation to new chemist and sales.

COMPETENCY LEVEL :

1. Minimum university degree in chemistry or chemistry related field. For example: applied chemistry, industry chemistry, etc.

2. Minimum 5 years working experience in company as senior chemist level or above or equivalent designation with similar field of business at other company.

3. Possess good technical knowledge on company’s product and related products.

4. Able to lead the team and manage subordinate.

5. Good analytical skill, resourceful on similar product.

6. Fluent in English and Malay languages. Good command of Chinese language is an added advantage.

• Experienced in quality methods, data analysis and continuous improvement.
• Being in a driver role and push improvements,
• Fast ability to understand company structure and interact with many interfaces
   

Expertise and methodology

• Knowledge in process management for product related business processes, specifically design, engineering, SCM and production (i. e. operational)
• Familiarity with cleanroom protocols (class 10/100) and semiconductor workflows
• Competency in MS-office for data analysis, reporting & presentation
• Familiarity with the Atlassian JIRA system

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Plant Product Owner for assigned product families from manufacturing stage through end-of-life (EOL).
• Serve as the main interface between Plant and Development for all product-related HW/SW issues.
• Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) performance and implement continuous improvement actions to meet targets.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for production and quality issues (e.g., FOR, field returns, 0km defects).
• Take ownership as Task Force Leader for critical product or process issues, coordinating cross-functional resources.
• Support failure analysis (FA) activities and collaborate with teams to define effective diagnostic tools.
• Transfer product know-how from development to plant during industrialization and ensure smooth product ramp-up.
• Participate in new product development (NPD) phases to incorporate plant lessons learned and prevent recurring issues.
• Provide technical risk assessments and decision justification for quality-related concerns.
• Lead and support cost improvement initiatives (e.g., RPP, IDC) to achieve plant and corporate targets.
• Develop and implement engineering and automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.
• Ensure manufacturing readiness through line buy-off, release, and validation activities.
• Conduct technical training for production technicians and engineers.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contract manufacturers (CM), and stakeholders to achieve operational goals.
• Support data analysis and reporting (e.g., SQL queries, technical presentations) for management and customers.
• Provide support in sample builds, testing, and evaluation activities during early product phases.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Our Global Manufacturing and Operations team is involved with all Secretlab’s industry-leading designs, including collaborative efforts with world-renowned brands such as Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, as well as international esports organisers such as Riot Games for their League of Legends global tournaments.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the quality of Secretlab’s products and manage Product Life Cycle from development through to production and aftersales
• Design, implement, lead, and continuously improve initiatives which enhance quality standards of our product, processes, and suppliers
• Build and implement a quality management system which accounts for regular inspections, testing and auditing of suppliers
• Ensure that our quality standards are adhered too, collaborating with on-site SQEs to ensure the necessary tests and audits are performed.
• Perform root cause analysis on issues pertaining to products and/or processes, collaborating with the relevant teams to troubleshoot and provide resolutions while preventing repeated failures.
• Regularly monitor and report on quality KPIs, analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improving our quality control processes
• Provide support and solutions to the Customer Service team on market feedback in a timely and effective manner, incorporating these feedback to build and improve quality in product development. improvement.
• Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders such as our Industrial Designers, Mechanical Engineers, and Sourcing teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Quality Engineering, or a relevant course of studies. External qualification as a certified quality engineer would be an added advantage.
• At least 6-8 years of relevant work experience, with good knowledge and practical experience in Supplier Quality Management and Manufacturing processes is preferred
• Good knowledge of and ability to interpret ISO 9001 and BIFMA standards, and prior experience as Internal Quality Auditor is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of quality concepts, methodologies and tools and awareness of the impact of the failure/ cost of quality.
• Knowledge of, and hands-on experience with developing reliable problem-solving approaches.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with good skill in organizing tasks based on priority.
• Strong communication skills with business proficiency in English and Mandarin (verbal & written, for liaising with Mandarin speaking vendors).
• Strong sense of initiative, taking pride and ownership of work tasks.
• Availability to travel as needed to perform supplier assessments/audits.
