Experience:

• 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a digital or technology delivery environment
• Hands-on experience writing user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria in an agile context
• Demonstrable experience producing both business process flows and technical flow diagrams — including API flows, system integration diagrams and data flows
• Experience working with APIs — able to read and document API contracts, understand request/response structures and map integration touch points accurately
• Experience with change governance processes, including preparation and submission
• Hands on experience with BMAD or AI development methodology
• Experience using AI tools like Claude via Terminal as part of delivery
• Experience working in cross-functional squads with developers, QA and product stakeholders
• Exposure to financial services, insurance or regulated industry an advantage

Tools

• Jira — backlog management, story writing and sprint tracking
• Confluence — requirements documentation and team knowledge management- Figma — ability to work with design files, annotate flows and collaborate with designers on product specifications
• Claude Code (terminal) — required; comfortable running AI-assisted workflows from the command line
• AI productivity tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot or similar) — either actively using or keen to adopt

Key Responsibilities

Underwriting & Policy Lifecycle Expertise

• Document and optimize workflows across:

. Risk submission & quotation

. Referral & authority matrix approval

. Policy issuance & endorsements

. Coinsurance / facultative placement (if applicable)

• Define automation opportunities in underwriting workflows.

• Improve authority governance through system controls.

Claims & Operational Modernization

• Map claims lifecycle across Construction losses

• Identify automation levers:

. FNOL digitization

. Document automation

. Reserve management workflow

• Improve underwriting-to-claims data flow.

Technology Transformation

• Lead business requirements for:

. Core system upgrade or replacement

. Workflow automation

. Integration with finance systems

. Data migration and validation

• Produce structured BRDs, process maps and user stories.

• Support SIT, UAT and production rollout.

Exposure & Portfolio Analytics

• Understand accumulation risk

• Support exposure reporting logic

Requirements

• 7+ years in Large Commercial insurance.

• Strong experience in Construction and Property underwriting workflows.

• Knowledge of Liability and WICA operational flows.

• Experience in system implementation or modernization.

• Strong stakeholder management with Underwriting & Claims.

• Experience with Guidewire / Duck Creek / TIA/ proprietary platforms.

• Exposure to regulatory reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyse user requirements across multiple regions and ensure alignment with business needs
• Document current processes and propose improved workflows to support system enhancements
• Review functional specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate testing activities including test case creation and execution
• Manage and track issues, defects, and enhancements using JIRA
• Assist in post-implementation support and issue resolution
• Act as a liaison between business users
• Provide insights and recommendations for process and system improvements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Degree in Information Technology, Business Analysis, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in banking or financial services
• Experience in requirements gathering, process improvement, and system implementation
• Hands-on experience with JIRA for test case and defect management
• Familiarity with UAT coordination and testing processes
• Good understanding of banking systems and operations
• Able to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
