Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of a cross-platform mobile and web application for cognitive health monitoring and support.

Working within a highly multidisciplinary team across the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC), NUS, and NTU, the Software Engineer will collaborate closely with researchers, designers, and clinicians to translate research prototypes into reliable and scalable software systems.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining mobile applications for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), as well as contributing to the web-based frontend (ReactJS) and backend services (NodeJS). Selection Criteria

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2–5 years of software development experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Go
• Experience with web frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Django, React, Angular) or backend services including RESTful APIs and microservices
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
• Understanding of version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to DevOps tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Terraform
• Previous experience in specific domains such as e-commerce or healthtech
