OVERVIEW OF ROLE

TheTechnician is responsible for supporting the Engineering team in maintaining the hotel’s facilities, equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted operations. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance across hotel systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing,HVAC and general building maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

TheTechnician works closely with the Engineering leadership team to ensure all hotel equipment and guest facilities are maintained to the highest standards, contributing to a safe and seamless guest experience.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL DUTIES

• Carryout daily maintenance, repairs and inspections of hotel facilities, equipment and systems.

• Ensure the proper operation of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, refrigeration and mechanical systems.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest room defects.

• Perform preventive maintenance according to the established engineering schedule.

• Monitor and inspect engineering equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

•Maintain accurate records of maintenance works, inspections and equipment performance.

• Assist with banquet, event and meeting set-up maintenance requirements where necessary.

• Support energy conservation initiatives and monitor utility usage where applicable.

• Ensure all tools, equipment and work areas are properly maintained and secured.

• Follow hotel policies and procedures relating to engineering operations and workplace safety.

MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS

•Troubleshoot equipment faults and carry out corrective actions promptly.

• Assist in maintaining hotel systems including generators, lighting, water supply, drainage and ventilation systems.

• Conduct regular testing of emergency and backup systems to ensure operational readiness.

•Coordinate with external contractors and vendors during servicing or repair works when required.

• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed with minimal disruption to guests and hotel operations.

• Report any major defects, hazards or safety concerns to the Engineering leadership team immediately.

• Support renovation, installation and improvement projects as assigned.

HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, fire safety procedures and hotel standards.

•Maintain a safe working environment and follow proper safety procedures at all times.

•Participate in emergency response procedures and engineering-related incident management when required.

• Ensure all engineering works are carried out in accordance with local regulations and hotel guidelines.

• Monitor fire prevention systems and report any irregularities immediately.

TEAMWORK & COLLABORATION

• Work closely with all hotel departments to support operational needs and guest satisfaction.

•Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations.

• Support and assist fellow team members where required.

•Participate actively in departmental training sessions and meetings.

•Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and a positive attitude at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

• NITEC,Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent technical certification in Engineering,Electrical, Mechanical or related discipline preferred.

• Minimum1–3 years of engineering or maintenance experience, preferably within hospitality or commercial buildings.

• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

•Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and engineering safety practices.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

•Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays where required.

•Knowledge of fire safety systems and workplace safety regulations is advantageous.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The Sales Manager – Rooms is responsible for driving room revenue through proactive sales efforts, account management and market development.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role focuses on identifying and securing business across key segments including corporate, leisure and travel trade. The Sales Manager plays a key role in building strong client relationships, increasing market share and positioning the hotel within the competitive landscape.

Working closely with Revenue Management and the wider commercial team, the role ensures that sales strategies are aligned with pricing, demand and overall business objectives.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the Sales Manager – Rooms are summarised below; however the list is not exhaustive.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Proactively identify, develop and secure room business across corporate, leisure and travel trade segments.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts with a focus on room revenue generation.

• Conduct sales calls, site inspections and client meetings to promote the hotel’s room product.

• Respond to enquiries related to room bookings, corporate contracts and group room requests.

• Prepare proposals, contracts and rate agreements in line with hotel policies.

• Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events and sales missions.

• Undertake any other duties or tasks deemed reasonable by the Director of Sales.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, wholesalers and key partners.

• Develop account plans to grow production and maximise room nights.

• Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for growth.

• Ensure all client interactions reflect the brand standards and service philosophy of NoMad.

• Maintain accurate records of account activity and production.

SALES STRATEGY & PERFORMANCE

• Support the implementation of the hotel’s rooms sales strategy to achieve revenue targets.

• Work closely with Revenue Management to optimise pricing, availability and segmentation.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and demand patterns.

• Contribute to sales forecasting and pipeline management.

• Track individual performance against room night production and revenue targets.

COLLABORATION & COORDINATION

• Work closely with Reservations, Front Office and Revenue teams to ensure smooth handling of room bookings.

• Coordinate with Events and F&B teams where group business includes additional components.

• Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on campaigns targeting room sales.

• Ensure clear and accurate communication between clients and internal teams.

ADMINISTRATION & REPORTING

• Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, including account details and sales activities.

• Prepare regular sales reports, account production reports and pipeline updates.

• Track leads, conversions and room revenue performance.

• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

GUEST EXPERIENCE & BRAND REPRESENTATION

• Represent NoMad Singapore with professionalism and confidence in all client interactions.

• Ensure a seamless and positive experience throughout the sales journey.

• Build long-term relationships that drive repeat room business.

• Uphold the brand standards and positioning of NoMad.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel sales with a focus on room sales or corporate accounts.

• Strong understanding of room revenue drivers, segmentation and market dynamics.

• Experience managing corporate, leisure or travel trade accounts.

• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

• Familiarity with CRM systems and revenue management concepts.

• Proactive, results-oriented and customer-focused mindset.
