Responsibilities

• Coordinate with sub-contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure timely communication and smooth project execution
• Collaborate with construction and design teams to prepare accurate documents for Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Open Tender processes
• Assist the Project Contract Manager in managing quantity surveying activities related to Sub-Contracts, Works Orders, and Purchase Orders
• Administer project documentation including preparing interim valuations, pricing and agreeing on contract variations, updating claim submissions, and preparing final accounts

Required competencies and certifications

Responsibilities

1. Perform duty to manage data centre (DC)operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, project rollout and facilities related matters.

2. Perform DC monitoring and maintenance on infrastructure systems, critical facilities and associated equipment.

3. Perform preventive and corrective support to scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on DC

infrastructure systems, critical facilities equipment and/or services.

4. Ensure all subcontractors deliver a quality and competent service and all contractual obligations are met. Supervise the vendors to all scheduled and adhoc activities related to DC facilities.

5. Perform DC and critical facilities work on environmental and management programs

6. Perform equipment functionality test and data analysis

7. Perform assets management duty, includingmaintaining of inventory, change and control programs and purchase of parts and supplies

8. Promptly respond and attend to incident and/or emergency situations

9. Provide standby support upon activation for shift duty stand-in and/or other coverage

Requirements:

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/DC Infrastructure or relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical or related fields)
• Additional certifications relevant to the industry is an added advantage
• 1 -2 years experience maintaining electrical, mechanical, fire protection system in facility management, particularly handling critical systems would be an added plus
• Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Computer skills eg. microsoft office, google emails, docs etc

Job Summary
The Costing Engineer / QS Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, Bill of Quantities (BQ), and man-hour calculations, while consulting suppliers to ensure material specifications and suitability for projects. The role works closely with Project Managers, Design, and Procurement teams to provide detailed cost analysis, support pricing strategies, and track project expenditures.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Analysis

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
• Develop Bill of Quantities (BQ) based on drawings, specifications, and project scope.
• Calculate man-hour requirements for various project activities and trades.
• Analyze historical cost data to improve estimation accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Material Consultation & Procurement Support

• Consult suppliers to confirm material specifications, quality, and suitability for project requirements.
• Recommend materials and alternatives based on cost, availability, and performance.
• Support procurement with accurate cost breakdowns and supplier technical input.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Assist in preparing project budgets and monitor actual costs against planned budgets.
• Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions to management.

Pricing & Commercial Support

• Develop and maintain pricing models for projects, products, and services.
• Provide cost input for bids, proposals, and client quotations.
• Support negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors based on cost analysis.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain organized records of cost estimates, BQs, man-hour calculations, supplier consultations, and approvals.

• Work closely with Project Managers, Design, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction, or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in costing, estimating, or quantity surveying.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in cost estimation tools, Excel, and project software.
• Knowledge of Bill of Quantities preparation, man-hour estimation, and material specification evaluation.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•  Ensure timely submission of process deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic profiles, equipment sizing, HAZOP study reports, etc

•  Lead in the P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) drawings submissions utilizing Bentley OPPID, PFD (Process Flow Diagrams), and mass balance calculations

•  Lead in RO Membrane design selection and process.

·   Participate and coordinate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies for the overall plant and its systems/sub-systems.

•  Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module and technology specifications.

•  Taking the lead in discussion with clients on planning and execution of the testing and commissioning for successful project completion.

•   Analyze and review current processes to streamline them for improvement, productivity enhancement, sequence optimization, unit improvement, and troubleshooting of the plant during testing and commissioning.

•   Attend technical meetings with clients, vendors, sub-contractors, and internal project teams.

•  Collaborate with various disciplines engineers to ensure all interfacing issues are aligned and resolved to mitigate engineering rework.

·   Any other ad-hoc engineering duties to support the Project Manager for successful execution of the project.
