About the job

Twilio is seeking a technical leader for a team of Solutions Engineers in our Twilio Communications business.

In this role, you will report to the Solutions Engineering Director, APJ. We support some of the largest and fastest growing companies in the world, spanning industries such as marketing, business automation, and customer care. Twilions on the Solutions Engineering team are experts in the CPaaS or CCaaS space and act as key members of our go-to-market teams in developing and optimising business critical customer engagement use cases with Twilio products. This role is highly cross functional, with deep integration with product management, carrier relations, finance, and our go-to-market sales and services teams.

You will manage a team of Solutions Engineers and be accountable for their development, performance, and operating model within the go-to-market organisation.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

• Partner with the Sales leadership team to set our strategy for finding, closing and supporting opportunities in our sales funnel and in our existing customer base.
• Work across functions to ensure collaboration for shared goals and appropriate capacity for your team.
• Build and roll out programs that enable the Solutions Engineers to scalably accelerate our funnel.
• Attract, develop, and motivate a team of hard-working Solutions Engineers, continually educating your team and seeking innovative solutions for improving your team. 
• Ensure that your team has the support that they need to be successful as well as providing direct mentoring and guidance on a day to day basis.
• Lead the technical strategy, determine what role Solutions Engineers should play in accelerating new sign-ups, and how to deploy the team most effectively. Measure and communicate results – use data to communicate results and make decisions.
• Set clear expectations for your team, remove obstacles where possible, and actively communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders when deciding where your team needs to focus.
• Engage with Product, Support, Sales, Operations, Legal, Security, Engineering, and every single other department as necessary to make our customers successful on our platform.

*Required:

• • 7+ years of relevant work experience within the SaaS or CPaaS industry, inclusive of BS in Computer Science or equivalent software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of previous people leadership experience or equivalent experience as a senior individual contributor / lead.
  • Proven track record of building high performance teams and leading by example.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate strategic vision, inspire and influence others internally and externally at all organisational levels.
  • A hands-on approach to problem solving. Always ready to handle customer blocking issues and work opportunities directly alongside your team.
  • A strong understanding of the developer adoption cycle, as well as experience in the technology areas relevant to Twilio’s market: contact centre, IP-based telephony,messaging, real-time communications, security, authentication, email, scaling web and mobile applications.
  • Tech-savvy leaders, experience with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, GoogleCloud, Microsoft Azure) and cloud application architecture.
  • Experience with sales methodologies
  • Cross-functional experience in pre-sales or post-sales technical consulting, software engineering, or product management is a plus.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity with a proven ability to proactively solve problems.

Location

 This role will be remote and based in Singapore.

Travel

Key Responsibilities

• The role partners with Senior Management to align departmental strategy with business objectives while leading, coaching, and developing supervisors, team leads, and technical staff to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Responsible for defining and managing KPIs, driving operational performance, and ensuring effective execution of engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Oversees all technical documentation including drawings, models, NPI, SOPs, and OMS, while ensuring full compliance with ISO standards and controlled process governance.
• Manages Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), End-of-Life (EOL) transitions, and configuration control, while maintaining strong ERP/MRP system integrity to ensure accurate data for planning, reporting, and decision-making.
• Leads root cause analysis and corrective actions (CAR/OFI), driving continuous improvement across engineering, quoting, and operational workflows.
• Ensures timely resolution of technical and process issues.
• Develops cost models, labour standards, pricing structures, and lead-time benchmarks to support accurate, competitive, and profitable quoting.
• Supports sourcing initiatives through supplier negotiation and cost optimization.
• Acts as the key interface between engineering, operations, sales, procurement, and customers, ensuring clear communication

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with hands-on experience managing and updating multi-level BOM (Bill of Materials).
• Ability to design and update electrical industrial enclosure (electrical box) blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools for reporting and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, BOM structures, and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-focused mindset.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as in a team.
• Able to translate technical requirements into practical operational execution.
