Who we are looking for 

Hydroleap is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity. 

As a Process Engineer, you will have a strong technical background in process engineering, and a demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive process improvements. 

What you will be doing 

• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to optimize processes. 

• Lead process improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Business Development, Operations and suppliers to identify process improvement opportunities.

You will be part of the technical specialists working at the waste management facilities including Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) - a large-scale waste management infrastructural project, and Tuas South Incineration Plant (TSIP).

· You may be part of the project team to supervise IWMF construction progress.

The work scope includes:

1. To work with project consultants and key stakeholders, such as other government agencies, on the design of the various facilities in IWMF and ensure that IWMF is constructed, erected, installed in accordance with design specifications and complying with statutory requirement.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement machine processes to improve machine efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
• Conduct process corner studies to optimize key parameters and ensure machines operate within definedspecifications.
• Analyze machine performance data to identify trends, improve accuracy, and resolve process-related issues.
• Develop and validate process control strategies to maintain consistent equipment performance and meet customer specifications.
• Lead equipment qualification activities (FAT / SAT).
• Define and document machine technical requirements, including detailed specifications, SOPs, and risk assessments (PFMEA).
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment and process issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions using methodologies such as 8D and DMAIC.
• Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and maintainability of new equipment.
• Support new product development by scaling prototypes for production readiness.
• Train manufacturing and customer service personnel on process standards, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Evaluate new customer materials and components for compatibility with existing equipment and processes.
• Provide technical support for customer escalations, including in-house and on-site troubleshooting.
• Ensure machine compliance with regulatory requirements such as JDEC/EIA standards throughout productdevelopment and implementation.
• Apply statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variation and improve machine process capability.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and reduce operational costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Over 3 years of experience in process or application engineering within semiconductor equipment manufacturing/OEM environment.
• Strong data analysis skills and using tools such as MS Excel, JMP, or Minitab and methodologies (SPC, Six Sigma, Lean) is required.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor equipment design, process integration, and manufacturing principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, andcustomer teams.
• Programming experience with MS Excel macros or Python is a plus.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher is highly desirable.
• Willingness to work onsite in customer environments approximately 20% of the time.

This role will be responsible for improving existing technologies for producing chocolate and/or cocoa products for the Barry Callebaut group. The Process Engineer will be accountable for certain process performance and process capability topics within the plant. Within this role, you will support manufacturing operations teams with building and maintaining process and people capabilities, implement projects and collaborate with the Global Process Excellence and CI & TS counterparts.

This role also supports the evaluation, recommendation and the implementation of new process development technologies that optimize performance, are cost effective and will improve product quality and manufacturing techniques. This role act as a main knowledge and reference resource for the plant, the engineering team and other cross-functional departments in the chocolate-making process, from bean to bar. You may specialize or focus on a specific chocolate or cocoa process step in larger factories, such as liquid chocolate, powder, etc.

MAINRESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

• Develop industrially robust solutions for existing technologies and demonstrate the economic value of new production technologies, considering factors like operability, safety, food safety, morale, energy, throughput, and waste reduction.
• Establish and maintain global operational process standards and drive the rollout and monitoring of Process Operating Standards (SOPs, Process routines, etc.) and Process capability across existing installations.
• Manage data entry and accuracy in SAP for product formulations.
• Support SKU reduction/rationalization efforts.
• Identify and implement solutions to reduce waste and rework.
• Provide training materials and conduct training sessions within the factory.
• Provide on-site technical support for day-to-day operations, new line startups, NPIs, and projects.
• Collaborate with engineering, OT and digital representatives to implement new technology on the shop floor and drive change management.
• Work with the regional process excellence team to create and define process standards for installations.
• Support the deployment of BCOS standards within the factory and contribute to improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the innovation project funnel from project definition to standard creation.
• Provide support to Engineering teams and lead the commissioning of new lines and equipment from a process assurance perspective.
• Manage key stakeholders and partners in a complex environment, both internal and external.

ESSENTIALEXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL OR FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

• Experience/Knowledge in the food or process industry is required
• Degree in Engineering (food or chemical engineering, electromechanics, etc. ), Bioscience-engineering, Chemistry or Physics
• Minimum 3 years in chocolate/cocoa production will be at an advantage
• Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite, SAP Systems and other applications used in manufacturing e.g. scheduling, CMMS, MES, etc will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all tests and assigned tasks are performed in a timely manner in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and company Quality and Safety Standards.
• Perform and review laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process samples and final products to ensure quality and consistency.
• Manage and perform maintenance of laboratory equipment including coordinating with third-party laboratories for calibration activities.
• Oversee column change operations for the DI water system.
• Manage and coordinate waste collection schedules.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance current products and meet evolving industry needs.
• Prepare samples for customer evaluation and submission.
• Conduct and support investigations into customer complaints including root cause analysis and report writing.
• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures, laboratory test methods and product documentation such as SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and TDS (Technical Data Sheets).

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field.
• Possess 2 years of relevant work experience in laboratory or process engineering environment is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of quality, safety and regulatory standards.
