About the Role
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our project team for a major building and infrastructure project located on Penang Island.
This is a site-based position. You will play an important role in coordinating construction activities and assisting in the successful delivery of the project in accordance with approved drawings, construction programme, quality requirements, and safety requirements.
This role requires close coordination with the management team, consultants, and subcontractors.
Requirements
• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Architecture, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or other related construction / engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in building construction, infrastructure works, M&E works, site coordination, or project engineering.
• Experience in site coordination, subcontractor management, consultant coordination, drawing coordination, or construction progress follow-up.
• Experience in reviewing construction drawings / shop drawings, coordinating site works, preparing or assisting in method statements, and arranging site inspections will be an advantage.
• Familiar with construction processes, construction methods, building materials, site quality requirements, and safety management requirements.
• Candidates with experience in architectural, structural, and M&E coordination will be preferred.
• Able to work independently at site and coordinate effectively with management, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Good communication skills, strong sense of responsibility, and ability to solve site issues.
• Able to communicate in basic English, prepare reports, and handle project documents.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with MS Project or other relevant engineering / project management software will be an advantage.
• Able to be based full-time at the project site on Penang Island and attend site inspections, coordination meetings, and other construction management activities as required by the project.
Important Note
This is strictly a site-based position, mainly supporting building construction works on Penang Island.
Candidates with only industrial, manufacturing, factory, or facility maintenance background may not be suitable for this position.
