• Prepare and present detailed submission documents to the reinsurance market to secure optimal placements
• Act as liaison between insurers (cedants) and reinsurers to facilitate clear communication and effective risk transfer
• Advise clients on reinsurance arrangements and current market conditions to support informed decision-making
• Maintain strong relationships with underwriters and reinsurers to enhance business opportunities and market access
• Prepare slips, endorsements, and placement documentation ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory and internal standards
• Maintain accurate records of placements and communications for audit and operational efficiency
• Monitor trends in engineering risks, pricing, and capacity to provide timely market intelligence
• Stay updated on developments in sectors such as construction, energy, and infrastructure to anticipate market shifts
• Share relevant insights with clients and internal teams to support strategic planning and risk management

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or related field preferred; alternatively, Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or Finance with relevant experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in reinsurance broking or underwriting, preferably in engineering lines
• Experience in facultative reinsurance placement is desirable
• Good understanding of engineering insurance classes (CAR, EAR, MB, etc.)
• Knowledge of reinsurance structures and policy wordings
