The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) invites applications a full-time, teaching-track faculty position in Economics, with focus on empirical research in areas including but not limited to:

Research on topics relevant to design, technology or artificial intelligence is preferred. Appointments will be made on an initial three-year contract, renewable subject to review.

The successful candidate will: 

• Lead the development and teaching of new undergraduate courses in Economics for an interdisciplinary B.Sc. degree in design, artificial intelligence, and economics
• Teach courses in our undergraduate core curriculum, such as introductory courses in social science or research methods
• Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives, in particular relating to Design and AI, through collaboration with colleagues in engineering, architecture, computer science, and design.
• Mentor students, including those working on capstone projects that connect research on human problems with technological innovation.

Applicants should have an excellent record of effective teaching at the university level. We especially seek scholars with the potential to develop new directions in interdisciplinary teaching and who are interested in collaborating with scientists and technologists. The Training Officer will coordinate, deliver, and assess training programmes for persons with disabilities (PWDs) engaged in data management work. The Training Officer ensures that learning is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with operational goals, while fostering a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.

Responsibilities                                                                                                            

·       Design, implement, and manage structured training programmes tailored to the needs of the PWDs

·       Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to align training objectives with project deliverables

·       Maintain training calendars, attendance records, and learner progress tracking

·       Train the PWDs in data entry projects and ensure project deliverables are met

·       Supervise and manage project work performed by the PWDs, ensuring quality and timeliness of the delivery

·       Be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of PWDs during training and work activities

·       Provide case management and counselling support to PWDs as needed

·       Maintain regular communication with caregivers, providing periodic updates on PWDs progress

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be part of AST's Customer Services Division. This customer-facing role encompasses a wide variety of day-to-day tasks aimed at providing an exceptional customer experience to the pilots performing their flight simulator training. Ensure that all customer concerns and requests are attended with high level of professionalism and on timely manner. He/ She need to keep a high level of harmonious relationship with the customer.

Responsibilities

1. Attend to walk-in customers and perform frontline services to any customers / visitors entering the premises. These include:

• Greet visitors and determine the nature of their visit, alert appropriate party of visitor's arrival, direct visitors to proper waiting area.
• Respond to general enquiries and feedback.
• Establish and maintain customer rapport.
• Make outbound calls to customers and/or responding to customer emails.

2. Provide support on training related enquiries includes:

• Work with all stakeholders to ensure proper alignment of the Simulator Flight Scheduling and Maintenance Planning activities.
• Perform Simulator Flight Scheduling and Maintenance Planning activities as an alternate to PIC
• Effectively facilitate pilots’ requests by liaising promptly with other departments.
• Perform data input and analysis.
• Plan and track monthly programs for completion.

3. Assist with tenant-related enquiries including but not limited to booking of meeting/ conference rooms/ guest rooms.

4. Assist with the planning, co-ordination and execution of internal and company events.

5. Setting & tidying up of the guest rooms for accommodation.

6. Monitor Pantry and Stationery supplies and coordinate purchases when needed. Replenish F&B supplies in Pilot Lounge, Boardroom and guest rooms.

7. Other potential engagements in other work areas within the Company.

Requirements

• Possesses at least a Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience in customer and/or administrative service.
• Prior working experience in aviation industry/ hospitality / customer service experience is highly advantageous.
• High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in administrative procedures.
• Team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to communicate in Mandarin to be able to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates on handling daily operations and headquarter in China.
