The main responsibility of this position is to deliver on an industry innovation research project. The Research Fellow/Engineer will be a key member of the research team focused on developing a framework for soil conditioning in Singapore soils through a series of experimental investigations. Additionally, they will work on delivering a novel Screw Conveyor Extraction Test (SCET) equipment, crucial for accurately assessing the effectiveness of soil conditioning in tunneling processes. The proposed framework and equipment will be validated at an active tunneling site.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.

We are looking for a Research Engineer for the Architectures and circuits for pervasive 5G silicon chip connectivity with end-to-end system millimeter scale and 1,000X reduction in radio power consumption project led by Professor Massimo Alioto, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The selected candidate is expected to:

•    Develop innovative circuit architectures for research projects and performing transistor-level design, simulation, and layout of analog, digital blocks and mixed-signal using industry-standard EDA tools.

•    Drive the silicon chip design through the full tape-out flow, including pre-layout and post-layout simulations, physical verification (DRC/LVS), and parasitic extraction.

•    Develop test plans, designing PCB test boards, and performing detailed silicon characterization and debugging using lab equipment.

•    Authoring high-quality research papers for leading conferences and journals and presenting findings at international conferences.

•    Managing technical milestones for the project and providing technical guidance to PhD and Master's students within the group.

The appointment can commence immediately with a 1-year contract, with prospect of extension. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

The candidate must possess:
•    Min a bachelor’s degree in either Electrical Engineering or strictly related (e.g., Computer, Electronics, Communication, or Information Engineering).
•    Knowledge on circuit architectures, transistor-level design.
•    Knowledge on silicon chip design, EDA tools.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Open to fixed term contract.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

• Deliver engaging theoretical and practical training aligned with CAAS standards.
• Lead flight demonstrations and practical assessments at training sites.
• Provide clear instruction on drone safety, flight planning, airspace classification, meteorology, and emergency procedures.
• Adapt training methods to suit individual learning styles and skill levels.
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide detailed feedback and guidance.
• Assist in updating training materials and ensuring course content remains current with evolving drone regulations and technology.
• Maintain accurate student records, reports, and certification tracking.
• Assist Head of Training to ensure successful yearly renewal of UATO & UABTO statuses
• Explore and if capable, take on other training roles within the company.

Requirements

• Certified drone piloting licence - UAPL cert with no limitations category is preferable.
• Experience delivering structured drone training or relevant training is useful.
• Understanding of aviation law, safety protocols and regulations is useful.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varied conditions for practical sessions.
• Willing to work selected week nights and alternate weekends for training classes.
