Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain HPC storage environments including parallel filesystems such as Lustre or GPFS
• Monitor performance, manage capacity, and ensure data integrity across storage infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage and filesystem-related issues in high-performance environments
• Manage storage lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, and configuration changes
• Work with system and network teams to optimise end-to-end I/O performance
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical incidents and escalations
• Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and ensure adherence to ITIL processes

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience managing enterprise storage
• Strong Linux administration experience, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Good understanding of storage technologies, RAID, and high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand/Ethernet)
• Able to script (e.g. Bash, Python) and troubleshoot effectively in production environments

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain enterprise storage platforms (SAN, NAS, or scale-out systems)
• Provision project and home storage, quotas, and access controls
• Manage snapshots, restores, and data integrity scans
• Monitor capacity and performance, and report on trends and risks
• Run failover and recovery exercises to verify resilience
• Operate backup, archival, and tiering workflows (e.g. tape / HSM)
• Apply vendor advisories and remediation tasks per runbook
• Support large-scale and parallel storage environments (exposure to parallel filesystems such as Lustre is an advantage)

Requirements

• At least 2 years managing enterprise storage (SAN, NAS, or scale-out platforms such as Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE, or similar)
• Strong Linux fundamentals
• ITIL Foundation, or willingness to obtain it (certification fully sponsored by the employer)
• A strong willingness to learn, since full vendor training is provided
