Job Summary
Act as the Private Equity Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technology teams, translating complex PE business processes into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with investment strategies, and supporting quality assurance and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Investment Professionals and Finance teams to elicit detailed requirements on PE business processes such as cash flow forecasting, capital call/distribution calculations, waterfall modelling, carried interest, and limited partner reporting.
- Guide technical teams in designing and implementing data models, reporting systems, and workflow automation tools that reflect PE-specific financial logic and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary PE domain SME, clarifying financial terminology, fund structures, investment metrics (e.g., IRR, TVPI, DPI), and accounting treatments (IFRS/GAAP) for technical teams.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that applications and data pipelines accurately process PE financial data and meet business outcomes.
- Document and map existing PE workflows, identify system gaps, and propose technology-driven process optimizations to enhance efficiency and data quality.
- Ensure all technology solutions align with the firm’s investment strategy, compliance requirements, and investor reporting standards.
- Train Application Support teams on PE business context to enable faster and more effective resolution of financial data issues.
Required competencies and certifications
- Demonstrable working knowledge of the Private Equity investment lifecycle, fund structures, fund accounting principles, and key investment metrics (e.g., IRR, TVPI, DPI).
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, confirming depth in financial reporting and accounting standards.
- CFA certification or equivalent financial credentials.
Other Information
- Experience: 7+ years in financial domain roles related to Private Equity, Fund Administration, or Investment Operations with deep knowledge of PE financials.
