The Role

As the Head of Commercial for pandamart Malaysia, you will be the driving force behind our retail strategy. 

You will own the commercial strategy & execution, ensuring that pandamart stores offer the right assortment at the right price, while building sustainable, profitable growth. 

You will lead and mentor a high-performing team across Category Management and Private Label, and will engage cross-functionally with various teams from Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain to cement pandamart as the leading q-commerce destination in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic P&L Management

• Drive the pandamart commercial P&L, balancing top-line growth with margin optimization.

• Own the commercial levers of inventory health, specifically driving strategies to minimize waste, shrinkage, and expiries.

• Collaborate with Marketing on customer acquisition/retention and Operations on efficiency to drive overall business growth.

2. Category Management & Assortment Strategy

• Define the "winning" assortment: lead decisions on SKU onboarding, delisting, and category expansion.

• Optimize category performance through data-driven reviews, ensuring assortment depth matches customer demand and market trends.

• Drive Private Label range development & expansion.

3. Supplier Partnerships & Monetization

• Lead high-level negotiations, Joint Business Planning (JBP), and commercial terms with local and global suppliers.

• Grow "Retail Media" revenue together with the Retail Media & Partnership team and secure supplier support for campaigns.

4. Pricing, Competitiveness & Campaigns

• Design and execute the SKU pricing strategy to balance margin protection with strong price perception.

• Craft and oversee high-impact commercial campaigns that drive basket size and frequency.

5. Cross-Functional Operations

• Align assortment strategy with warehouse capacity and supply chain constraints to ensure high availability and operational flow.

6. Team Leadership & Coaching

• Build and lead a strong commercial team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.

We are hiring a Director, Quick Commerce to lead and scale the Quick Commerce business at foodpanda Malaysia. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Quick Commerce APAC, with a dotted line to the Managing Director of foodpanda Malaysia, this role will have full ownership of the business end-to-end, including strategy, execution, and P&L performance.

You will lead both our 1P dark store business (pandamart) and 3P marketplace partnerships with major grocery and non-grocery retailers. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can define the long-term vision, mobilize cross-functional teams, and build strong executive relationships with key partners across the market.

Your key responsibilities: 

• Strategic leadership: Develop and execute the short-term and long-term strategy of Quick Commerce at foodpanda Malaysia.

• P&L management: Own the full P&L of the business vertical, delivering both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability against ambitious targets.

• Team management: Develop and lead a high-performing, multi-functional team of ~50 across sales, account management, category management, store operations, supply chain, and retail media.

• Dark store operations: Drive growth and profitability of the pandamart business (1P) by refining brand positioning, optimizing assortment and pricing, and scaling nationwide retail and supply chain operations. This is an operationally heavy business across >25 dark stores spread around the country.

• Marketplace place operations: Expand the marketplace business (3P) through strategic partnerships with leading retailers, delivering Joint Business Plans, and scaling acquisition and account management capabilities. This is a platform business on which we partner today with multiple large retailers in the country and want to grow fast in coming months. 

• Innovation: Identify and deploy innovative, growth-focused initiatives to unlock new business opportunities and accelerate market expansion.

We are looking for a Manager, Account Management Performance to be based in Bangsar South, KL. This role will be reporting to the Lead, Account Management Performance in the Commercial department. The department generally is responsible for

• Managing relationships with key partners
• Achieving key commercial KPI’s

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Project management: end to end ownership of all projects that involve the AM team
• Performance management: ensuring commercial OKR’s and AM team KPI’s are achieved, with the expectation of deep diving whenever possible to optimize performance
• Analytics: analyze data sets to diagnose issues, propose solutions, and improve overall commercial performance
• Presentations: capable of crafting decks that tell stories guided by data
• Oversee AM administration: Lead and manage administrative tasks related to the AM team, e,g, AM SOP development, target setting, & account rebalancing. 
• Strong collaborative skills to work cross-functionally with Account Managers and stakeholders to understand and enhance operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Invoice & Expense Processing

  • Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims with accuracy and compliance to company policies.

  • Handle exceptions such as foreign currency invoices, tax-related adjustments, and complex vendor terms.

• Payments & Vendor Management

  • Execute vendor payments in line with company schedules and cash flow priorities.

  • Maintain vendor master data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

  • Resolve escalated vendor queries and disputes.

• Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Perform vendor account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

  • Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely resolution of overdue items.

  • Support cash flow forecasting by providing accurate payable data.

• Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare AP schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal controls.

• Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.

  • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to Level 1 AP staff.

  • Act as a point of escalation for complex transactions and reconciliation issues.

  • Collaborating cross-regionally (India team).

  • Contributing to leadership reporting (metrics, performance visibility).

Summary

This position is a level 2 that involve invoice Processing, payments or vendor master, vendor reconciliation, end to end exposure. To handle more complex AP tasks, reconciliation, and process improvements. Acts as a point of escalation for level 1 associate.
