Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and technically versatile IT Support Engineer to provide dedicated remote technical support and infrastructure management. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for remote users, ensuring their endpoints, productivity suites, and core infrastructure operate seamlessly. You will handle a mix of day-to-day helpdesk operations, proactive system maintenance, and cloud administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Remote Technical Support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 remote support for end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.

• Cloud & Workspace Administration: Administer and support enterprise productivity suites, particularly Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams).

• Infrastructure & Network Monitoring: Monitor the health of remote systems, including managing Windows Server, Synology NAS environments and configuring/troubleshooting FortiGate firewalls and VPNs.

• Server & Virtualization Maintenance: Support Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Domain Controllers) and manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).

• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Ensure data integrity by monitoring and executing backup routines using tools like Windows Backup, Synology Active Backup, Synology Hyper Backup, Veeam, and assisting in system recovery scenarios.

• Technical Operations & Computer Hygiene: Execute routine system audits, endpoint updates, and general computer hygiene tasks to ensure security compliance and optimal performance.

• Documentation & Automation: Maintain accurate technical logs, update standard operating procedures (SOPs), and assist in basic workflow automation.

Core Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years of proven experience in an IT Helpdesk, System Administration, or Remote Support role.

• Technical Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in managing Windows Server environments and Microsoft 365 tenant administration.

  • Hands-on experience with network-attached storage (Synology preferred) and network security appliances (e.g., FortiGate).

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and backup solutions (Veeam).

  • Solid understanding of standard networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN).

• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong written and verbal communication skills to guide remote users effectively.

• Good to Have: Familiarity with scripting or workflow automation (e.g., Python, PHP, JavaScript, or Zoho Deluge) is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Set up, test, and troubleshoot server systems and rack-mounted products to ensure operational functionality
• Execute and document testing procedures and results accurately according to work instructions
• Support packing, labeling, and shipping activities to facilitate smooth production flow
• Assist in BIOS, burn-in, pressure testing, and other technical testing activities as needed
• Follow established testing processes, safety standards, and operational procedures to maintain product quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area by applying good housekeeping and 5S standards
• Work effectively in shift schedules as required by operational needs

Required competencies and certifications

• Physically fit and healthy to perform job duties safely
• At least 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, testing, or production environments
• Basic computer and technical knowledge to operate testing equipment and record results

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Technical school, vocational school, or high school diploma and above
• Technical background or prior experience in server testing
