Our client is a global MNC that manufactures and supplies specialty coatings, treatments, and chemicals. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Quality Control Technician to be part of their team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the West.

The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for:

Supporting the company's quality control operations by conducting product testing and inspection activities to ensure products meet established quality standards and manufacturing requirements.

• Perform daily quality control testing to support manufacturing operations, incoming inspections, and recurring inspections.
• Assist in product quality investigations, including root cause analysis of customer complaints and production rejects, by reviewing records and conducting stability studies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance objectives, including First-Time Right and manufacturing performance targets.
• Assist in maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System through documentation control, internal audits, and adherence to good laboratory practices.
• Maintain compliance with company quality, safety, and workplace health policies and procedures.
• Carry out other duties related to quality control and laboratory operations as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• NITEC, Diploma, or an equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in a quality control or laboratory environment within the chemical manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Experience operating laboratory equipment such as Gas Chromatographs (GC), Differential Scanning Calorimeters (DSC), Autotitrators, and Karl Fischer Titrators is an advantage.
• Basic computer literacy and attention to detail are advantageous.

Job Summary:

The QC Specialist will work as part of the Quality team, supporting day-to-day QC operations and maintaining accurate and detailed records of all the assigned tasks. This role involves inspecting products at various stages of the manufacturing process, including incoming raw materials, intermediates, in-process materials and finished goods. The role will also participate in investigations of nonconforming products and assist in implementing corrective actions arising from these inspections.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform routine QC testing of incoming raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods.
• Plan and schedule daily routine and ad hoc QC runs assigned by line manager.
• Evaluate data and generate reports, highlighting any deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Raise nonconformances for failures observed during QCruns.
• Support troubleshooting and investigation of nonconformancesto determine root causes.
• Draft and revise QC work instructions as required.
• Support validation and stability studies for lab development and Diagnostic products, when necessary.
• Perform general laboratory support activities, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, document archival, and inventory tracking of laboratory reagents, etc.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory procedures and processes to ensure compliance with GMP requirements.
• Apply Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to all records to ensure traceability, transparency, and audit readiness.

Desired Skills and Competencies

• Degree/ Diploma in Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Life Science related courses or equivalent.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with qPCR, including operation of qPCR machines will be an advantage.
• Proficient in using standard laboratory equipment such as pipettes, centrifuges, etc.
• Familiar with basic laboratory procedures; experience in assay-based workflows and QCtesting is an advantage.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and ownership.
• Possess a positive, proactive and willing-to-learn attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Duties & Responsibilities
