1. Technical Director – Water Infrastructure (Wastewater Focus)

This is a strategic, high-ownership role for a veteran engineer with 15+ years of experience.

• Strategic Leadership: Drive the growth, capability planning, and technical direction of the wastewater business unit across Auckland and nationally.

• Project & Technical Oversight: Ensure delivery excellence on complex, large-scale treatment plants, pump stations, and reticulation networks.

• Business Development: Manage relationships with key municipal clients, water authorities, and alliance partners.

• Mentorship: Cultivate, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of intermediate and senior engineers.

2. Senior to Principal Wastewater Engineer

This is a delivery and team-leadership role for a technical expert with 8+ years of experience.

• Engineering Design: Lead the technical design and delivery of municipal wastewater treatment and reticulation infrastructure.

• Project Management: Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to exceptional standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Recognized Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Natural Resources Engineering fully accredited under the Washington Accord (e.g., NUS, NTU, or equivalent recognized international universities).

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and oversee all engineering activities for residential and condominium developments from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and project handover.
• Serve as the company's principal technical authority, providing expert guidance on engineering, construction, and design-related matters.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies, standards, policies, and best practices to support business objectives and project delivery excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and value engineering initiatives across all projects.

Design & Technical Management

• Manage and coordinate consultants, architects, structural engineers, M&E engineers, and specialist design teams.
• Review and approve engineering designs, technical specifications, drawings, and construction methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company specifications.
• Lead technical reviews and resolve complex engineering challenges throughout project execution.

Project Delivery

• Monitor project progress and provide technical leadership to ensure delivery targets for quality, cost, and schedule are achieved.
• Support project teams in resolving site issues, design discrepancies, construction challenges, and technical risks.
• Collaborate closely with project management, procurement, contracts, and construction teams to optimize project performance.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure successful project completion.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all engineering works comply with applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, and operational excellence across project teams.
• Support the implementation of quality assurance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with government authorities, consultants, contractors, utility agencies, and other key stakeholders.
• Represent the company in technical meetings, authority submissions, inspections, and project coordination activities.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships to facilitate smooth project execution.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, project engineers, and technical personnel.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Support talent development, succession planning, and recruitment initiatives within the engineering function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent professional accreditation is highly preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in residential, condominium, or mixed-use property development projects.
• At least 8 years of experience in a senior engineering leadership role.
• Proven track record in delivering high-rise residential and condominium developments from design through completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, design coordination, regulatory requirements, quality management, and contract administration.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors in a developer or construction environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with BIM, value engineering, and modern construction technologies will be an advantage.
• Willing to work 6 days per week.
