Tookitaki is a global financial crime prevention platform helping banks, FinTech's, payment providers and regulated institutions detect and prevent financial crime through AI-powered Anti-Money Laundering and Fraud Prevention solutions.
As we enter our next stage of growth, we are seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead technology execution, engineering excellence, platform scalability and AI innovation.
The CTO will be responsible for transforming technology into a predictable, efficient and scalablegrowth engine. This role will focus on improving delivery predictability, optimizing cloud economics, strengthening platform reliability and accelerating AI-driven product innovation.
Role Overview
The CTO will lead the technology organization including Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure and Research.
The successful candidate will build operational rigor across the technology function while ensuring that technology investments directly contribute to customer success, revenue growth and sustainable profitability.
This is a business-facing executive leadership role requiring strong collaboration with Product, Customer Success, Sales, Operations and Executive Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Execution
-Establish a high-performance engineering operating model.
-Improve roadmap predictability and delivery accountability.
-Drive release excellence and software quality.
-Build strong engineering leadership and succession capability.
-Introduce metrics-driven management across engineering teams.
Technology Strategy
-Define and execute the company's technology strategy.
-Balance innovation, technical debt management and customer commitments.
-Drive platform modernization and architecture evolution.
-Evaluate emerging technologies relevant to financial crime prevention.
AI & Data Innovation
-Lead the technology strategy for AI, Agentic AI and machine learning capabilities.
-Drive practical AI adoption that delivers measurable customer value.
-Ensure AI solutions are scalable, explainable and enterprise-ready.
-Support future innovation across AML and Fraud Management.
Cloud & Platform Operations
-Own platform reliability, scalability and operational efficiency.
-Optimize cloud infrastructure spending and platform economics.
-Improve engineering productivity through automation and platform tooling.
-Drive SRE and DevOps maturity.
Product Partnership
-Partner closely with Product leadership to ensure alignment between market priorities and engineering execution.
-Balance speed, quality and scalability.
-Support customer engagements and strategic account discussions.
Security Partnership
-Partner with Information Security leadership to maintain enterprise-grade security and compliance standards.
-Support customer audits and regulatory requirements.
-Ensure secure software development practices across the engineering organization.
First-Year Success Outcomes
By the end of Year 1, the CTO is expected to:
Delivery Excellence
-Deliver at least 90% of committed roadmap initiatives on schedule.
-Improve release predictability and reduce delivery slippage.

Infrastructure Efficiency
-Achieve cloud spend targets established by the company.
-Improve platform unit economics.
-Reduce infrastructure waste and improve resource utilization.
Reliability & Operations
-Maintain platform availability of 99.97% or higher.
-Achieve 98% or greater SLA adherence.
-Reduce production incidents and customer escalations.
Leadership
-Establish a high-performing engineering leadership team.
-Build a culture of ownership, accountability and execution excellence.
-Reduce organizational dependency on individual contributors.
Qualifications Required
-15+ years of technology leadership experience.
-5+ years leading engineering organizations at Director, VP Engineering, SVP Engineering or CTO level.
-Experience scaling B2B SaaS products. Strong understanding of cloud-native platforms and modern engineering practices.
-Experience leading multi-functional engineering organizations.
-Proven track record improving engineering execution and operational performance.
Preferred
-Financial Services, FinTech, RegTech, AML or Fraud domain experience.
-Experience with AI and machine learning product development.
-AWS platform experience.
-Experience operating globally distributed engineering teams.
