• Verify Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists, insurance, and certificates for completeness and consistency
• Identify discrepancies, resolve issues with customers/banks, and decide on acceptance or rejection

Compliance, Risk & Control

• Conduct sanctions, AML, and anti-financial crime screening using tools like World-Check One
• Review credit limits, facility validity, and collateral; flag high-risk and suspicious transactions
• Comply with MAS regulations, OFAC/UN/EU sanctions, and internal controls; follow Maker/Checker workflows and maintain audit trails

SWIFT & System Operations

• Prepare, verify, and authorize SWIFT messages; input transactions into core banking systems
• Perform compliance and vessel/port checks; maintain secure digital/physical records and archives

Customer & Stakeholder Support

• Advise corporate clients and correspondent banks on trade terms and procedures
• Provide status updates, settlement confirmations, and coordinate with other department such as Compliance

Reporting

• Resolve operational issues and follow up on outstanding items
• Prepare management reports, support audits, regulatory submissions, and month-end closing
• Assist in process updates, automation, and system UAT; perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
• Preferably 5+ years of hands-on core Trade Finance Operations experience in a bank or financial institution
• Understand international trade rules, SWIFT MT/MX messaging, and compliance screening tools
• High attention to detail, strong risk awareness, and ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working independently and collaborating effectively within a team

Background

A trading company is in the process of implementing a new SAP S/4HANA–based ERP system, scheduled to go live in early February. As part of this transformation, the Philippines entity is addressing challenges related to statutory tax reporting to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). Currently, there are issues with extracting accounting data from a legacy system and uploading it into SAP Business One due to errors in an existing uploader (UL) tool. In parallel, a new uploader solution aligned with the upcoming SAP S/4HANA ERP system needs to be designed and implemented.

To support both immediate issue resolution and future‑ready solution development, an experienced consultant is required to work closely with business users, local development partners, and the global ERP implementation team.

Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for both current‑state stabilization and future solution delivery, including:

• Conduct current-state analysis of the UL tool and organize business/system requirements for the enhancement.
• Lead requirement definition and development scheduling with the local development vendor, DynamIQ.
• Communicate daily with local users (Accounting/Finance), DynamIQ, and provide reporting to the GM (Japanese expat).
• Work onsite in the Philippines during the initial phase team, who is currently supporting the client locally.
• The member is expected to stay onsite until the UL tool modification and the MOCA related uploader components are completed.
• Acting as the primary coordination point with local Accounting/Finance users, development partners, and senior local management.
• Providing regular status updates and reporting to local management, including Japanese expatriate leadership.
• Collaborating closely with the SAP S/4HANA global implementation team to ensure alignment with the new ERP (MOCA).
• Working onsite in the Philippines during the initial phase to support requirement clarification, development kick‑off, and issue resolution.
• Remaining engaged until completion of UL tool enhancements and S/4HANA‑aligned uploader components.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end accounting and finance processes
• Experience working with financial data extraction, transformation, and reporting
• Exposure to SAP FI or SAP‑based financial systems is preferred but not mandatoryFunctional SAP support will be available from the global ERP team
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders across locations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior management
• Experience working with external development vendors is highly desirable
