Job Description

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking multiple determined full-time Research Associate(s) to join a new group led by Dr Angkana T Huang.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on one of several research projects using computational methods to understand the mechanisms underpinning the ecology and evolution of dengue and related arboviruses across Asia and globally. Product Development & Lifecycle Management

• Own the product roadmap for Faculty and Research platforms across the full lifecycle - from discovery and requirements through to delivery, launch, and iteration.

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant (Quality Assurance (QA) Executive) in the Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. CIRC is a dedicated molecular imaging research centre. It is equipped with on-site capability for the preparation of PET radiopharmaceuticals in a state-of-the-art GMP-certified facility. Purpose of the post

This role provides QA support across document control, batch record management, training records, supplier documentation, audits, and quality system activities. Responsibilities include maintaining quality registers, tracking due dates and CAPA actions, supporting Bizzmine eQMS document control, checking Batch Manufacturing Records for completeness, and assisting with QA reporting and trending. Also supports GMP training, supplier qualification records, inspection readiness, and maintenance of key controlled documents. In addition, the role contributes to QA improvement work and is being trained to support investigational radiopharmaceutical release as an Authorised Person under supervision.

Main duties and responsibilities

The QA Executive will be able to:

Candidates with an established track record in sequencing methodology development, genomics, functional genomics (studied using saturation mutagenesis), and molecular engineering are highly welcome.
• Develop novel technologies in RNA therapeutics (including either using RNA as medicine or targeting RNA in diseases). Candidates with an established track record in targeting RNA or engineering RNA for protein production, decay, and localization in health and disease systems are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Computational biology, to develop/use the latest machine learning strategies and computational analytics to analyze genomic and multimodal data to enable novel insights into biology and human health.

Principal investigators will be able to leverage GIS' strong sequencing facility, technology platforms, novel computational analytics, and outstanding biological systems to create scientific and societal impact.

Qualified candidates should have an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree in the biological, genomic, or computational sciences, and a demonstrated ability to conduct cutting-edge team-based research with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, and external funding. Past successes in intellectual property creation will be an advantage. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic research organization. Strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment are critical for success. The successful candidate will drive an expansion into the indicated research areas and complement programs at GIS and synergise with ongoing larger-scale efforts at A-STAR. The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies.

CTP will generate knowledge and innovation across disciplines including climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences and the arts, finance, health, and engineering. It will also translate state-of-the-art scientific results into real world solutions for Singapore, and it will transfer these solutions to Southeast Asia (SEA) and beyond.

As part of this programme, Cluster 5 Climate and finance markets will measure and price climate risk in financial markets, design innovative risk financing solutions to climate change, and quantify economic impact of climate policies.

The Research Fellow will be based in the Nanyang Business School and will contribute to interdisciplinary research under Cluster 5, with a particular emphasis on empirical analysis, AI-enabled data construction, and policy-relevant research outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute empirical research projects related to climate risk, financial markets, and climate policy, in alignment with the objectives of Cluster 5: Climate and Finance Markets under the Climate Transformation Programme.

• Construct, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets combining financial, environmental, and policy information, including both structured and unstructured data sources.

• Apply artificial intelligence and large language model (LLM) tools to extract, structure, and analyze information from unstructured sources such as corporate disclosures, regulatory filings, policy documents, and project-level reports.

• Develop and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and related AI-enabled research workflows to support dataset construction, empirical analysis, and evidence synthesis.

• Implement rigorous empirical and quantitative methods to measure and price climate-related risks in financial markets and to assess the economic and financial impacts of climate policies.

• Contribute to the preparation of academic manuscripts for submission to leading peer-reviewed journals, as well as policy-oriented reports and research outputs.

• Collaborate closely with faculty investigators, research staff, and interdisciplinary partners across the University and with external collaborators.

• Support project coordination activities, including documentation of research workflows, version control of code and data, and supervision or mentoring of research assistants where appropriate.

Key Competency and Qualifications Requirements:

• PhD (or PhD near completion) in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Strong training in quantitative, empirical, or computational research methods.

• Experience working with large-scale datasets, including unstructured text data.

• Familiarity with AI and large language model (LLM) tools; experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) frameworks is an advantage.

• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
