Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant/ Research Associate (QC Analytical Chemist) in the Department of Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. CIRC is a dedicated molecular imaging research centre. It is equipped with on-site capability for the preparation of PET radiopharmaceuticals in a state-of-the-art GMP-certified facility. CIRC is positioned to support both academic and commercially led clinical research programs, with dedicated clinical imaging facilities area advanced modalities of PET-CT and PET-MRI. Purpose of the post

The QC Analytical Chemist will be responsible to, and work closely with Head of QC, to ensure the successful and safe release of radiopharmaceuticals manufactured at CIRC. The QC Analytical Chemist’s principal role will be to perform all quality control tests required by pharmacopeia. Alongside with maintaining the inventory of raw materials, maintenance of equipment and all the necessary documentation required for the QC laboratory in compliance to PIC/S GMP.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The QC Analytical Chemist will be responsible for:

• Performing routine QC release testing (HPLC, GC, radioTLC etc) on radiopharmaceutical to ensure quality and safe for clinical use in compliance with PIC/S GMP requirements.
• Support routine QC operations such as daily equipment checks, monthly standard calibration, documentation activities.
• Conducting routine microbial testing activities such as microbial plate incubation, sterility testing, bioburden testing, etc and liaising with third party contractors if required.

• Manage a portfolio of SME audit clientele
• Ensure the audit engagements are carried out in accordance with the Firm's policies and procedures and with approved professional standards;
• Direct the performance of the work and resolve technical matters;
• Develop and maintain client relationships and identify new business development opportunities

Requirements:

• A recognised degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional accounting qualifications
• Relevant experience of delivering audit and other assurance services in large/mid-tier international public accounting firms
• Strong technical skills
• Possess an initiative and analytical mind
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver consulting projects to support implementation of laboratory enterprise system (e.g., LES, LIMS) in the Life Sciences clients.
• Deliver consulting projects to support introduction, upgrade and maintenance of laboratory equipment with computerised system in the Life Sciences clients.
• Draft CQV and CSV deliverables such as URS, risk assessment, audit trail assessment, ERES assessment, IOPQ protocols, specifications and RTM.
• Execute CQ and CSV activities.
• Support equipment integration with other system such as network, manufacturing system and enterprise system.
• Support system configuration and CS activities such as backup and restore, access management, periodic review, etc.
• Draft, revise and review SOPs, forms and related operational and maintenance documents.

Requirements:

• Hold Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or related field.
• Have worked at least 2 years in pharmaceutical, medical device or related environment.
• Preferably experience in configuring systems like LIMS (e.g., Labware), LES (e.g., Biovia LES), ELN, CDS (e.g., Empower, OpenLab), etc.
• Preferably experience in Windows Upgrade of computerised laboratory equipment.
• Understand computerised system regulatory requirements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11) and industry best practice (e.g., ISPE GAMP5).
• Preferably with experience qualifying laboratory equipment with computerised system in pharmaceutical / medical device settings.
• Preferably with experience in change, incident and problem management.

• Assist to implement, maintain and to continuously improve on the ISO certification and system in relate to ISO 9001, ISO 22301 and ISO 27001
• Assist to review ISO 9001, ISO 22301 and ISO 27001 related manual, policies, procedures, business contingency plan and specified requirements and ensure they are implemented and complied to
• Assist to manage, participate and ensure all quality control and assurance processes / activities are in compliance to Company's standard, SOPs and WIs and customer’s requirements
• Facilitate and support in the review of processes and workflow to improve operational effectiveness
• Coordinate external audits and monitor corrective and preventive measures
• Participate in project, work studies, work committees, company-wide promotional activities and continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to assess quality performance, identify areas of improvement and monitor the corrective and preventive measures
• Ensure that corrective actions taken are adequate and analyse quality records for adverse trends
• Liaise with internal and external parties on QMS related issue
• Gather and prepare data from audits, compliance checks or any other areas as requested for management reporting
• Support company’s business effort and projects for client engagement and support, participate in the tender bidding
• Ensure that all information security management system related policies, procedures and specified requirements are implemented and complied to.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Requirement:

• Diploma or Degree in Science/Engineering from a recognized institution
• Preferably 2-3 years of work experience in Quality related work in the facilities management and/or engineering industry
• Preferably ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certified
• Preferably knowledge of Business Contingency Management System and Information Security System
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Resourceful and process good problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and able to work well in a team
• Has a good safety mindset and displays good WSH behavior
