Job Responsibilities
To support the inspection team during Turnaround (TA) byproviding Quality Assurance oversight for mechanical repair execution—ensuringrepairs, cleaning, and reinstatement for static equipment are performedcorrectly, on time, and without rework.
1. QA Oversight for Mechanical & Repair Activities
Act as QA checker for repair and mechanical teams.
Verify compliance with Aster’s repair specifications, ITPs, and code requirements.
Oversee activities such as:
- Exchanger bundle cleaning (e.g., water jetting), inspection, testing and repairs
- Welding repairs
- Surface preparation ready for NDE
- Component replacement
- Reassembly
2. Expediting & Schedule Support
- Track progress of repair activities to ensure alignment with TA schedule.
- Follow up with contractors to minimise delays and prevent rework.
- Ensure timely readiness for inspection release points.
3. Interface with Inspectors & Contractors
- Support inspectors by coordinating mechanical readiness for inspections.
- Communicate repair status, constraints, and critical path risks.
- Ensure correct sequencing of repair → inspection → closure.
4. Quality Control & Documentation
- Confirm that repair records, checklists, and EQCC documents are completed correctly.
- Maintain traceability for exchanger repairs, part replacement, and welding documentation.
- Report any non-conformances promptly.
5. HSSE & Field Compliance
- Ensure mechanical and contractor teams follow safety rules and PTW requirements.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and raise safety observations.
Job Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–8 years’ experience in Turnaround/mechanical execution roles.
- Familiarity with the static equipment repairs, exchanger maintenance, and QA processes.
- Experience supporting large TA events will be desirable.
- Strong field judgement aligned with risk-based decision making.
- Clear communication and timely escalation of integrity risks.
- High discipline in safety, compliance, and documentation.
- Experience working in operating plant environments including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Proactive identification of threats to safe start-up.

- Extended working hours and shift work may be required.
