Commercial Loans Manager (Hire Purchase)

Salary: $7,000 - $10,000 + Variable Bonus
Location: Pandan Road
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end loan lifecycle, from application and credit assessment to approval, documentation, and disbursement.
• Ensure efficient loan processing while maintaining strong risk controls and service standards.
• Monitor portfolio performance and implement strategies to maintain healthy asset quality.
• Evaluate loan applications and conduct detailed credit assessments.
• Make sound lending decisions in accordance with company policies and risk appetite.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, internal controls, and industry best practices.
• Review financial statements, credit reports, and supporting documents to assess borrower suitability.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of loan officers and credit professionals.
• Identify opportunities to improve lending workflows and operational efficiency.
• Monitor delinquency trends and portfolio risk indicators.
• Work closely with collections teams to minimize defaults and improve recovery rates.
• Recommend proactive measures to strengthen portfolio quality and profitability.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Accountancy, or related disciplines.
• 3 years of experience in banking, lending, loan management, credit underwriting
• Strong understanding of credit assessment, risk management, and lending principles.
• Proven experience reviewing financial statements and making credit decisions.

Loan Manager (Hire Purchase Finance) | $7,000 - $10,000 + VB 

• Working Location: Pandan Road

• Working Hours: Mon – Fri 830am to 530pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Loan Portfolio Oversight: Manage the end-to-end loan application and approval process, from initial customer inquiry through credit evaluation, documentation, and loan disbursement. Ensure efficient processing with quick turnaround times while maintaining high service quality.

• Risk Assessment & Compliance: Conduct thorough credit assessments and risk evaluations for hire purchase loan applications. Make sound approval decisions in line with company credit policies, and ensure strict compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Hire-Purchase Act and Monetary Authority of Singapore guidelines) and internal credit protocols.

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small team of loan officers/credit analysts, providing guidance on complex cases, setting clear performance goals, and fostering a high-performance, customer-service-oriented culture.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to refine loan procedures and approval workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices for loan management, documentation, and debt collection in the context of hire purchase financing.

• Portfolio Management: Monitor the health of the loan portfolio, manage delinquency and default rates, and implement proactive measures (e.g., timely follow-ups on outstanding payments) to maintain portfolio quality. Work closely with credit control and collections teams to ensure timely repayments.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, business development, and finance departments to support business growth, achieve lending targets, and address customer needs. Provide regular performance reports and risk analyses to senior management.

• Customer Service & Problem Resolution: Ensure a customer-centric approach in loan servicing. Address client inquiries or issues promptly and professionally, balancing customer satisfaction with prudent risk management.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum Diploma in any field, Business, or a related field. Proven with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in loan management or credit underwriting (hire purchase financing or similar consumer/commercial lending is highly advantageous).

• Strong understanding of Singapore’s financial regulations and compliance requirements, especially those relevant to hire purchase financing (e.g., Hire-Purchase Act, consumer credit guidelines, MAS regulations).
