The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing procurement activities within a defined function or project segment. Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Execution

Stakeholder Management & Influence

Problem Solving & Analysis

• Address complex, multi-variable procurement challenges affecting multiple stakeholders.

• Prioritize competing demands while balancing cost, quality, risk, and timelines.

Supplier & Contract Management

• Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Lead negotiations and contract management to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions when necessary.

Process Integration & Improvement

• Understand how procurement activities interlink with broader business processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and adherence to procurement policies and standards.

Team Coordination & Guidance

• Provide informal leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members or small workgroups.

• Accountable for the full outcomes of a procurement function, category, or project segment.

Your new company

A premier APAC data centre specialist seeking to hire a Procurement Manager – CAPEX (Data Centre Projects) x 2.

• 1 x Owner Supplied Equipment (OSE) category experience
• 1 x High Voltage (HV) category experience

Location: CBD

Duration: 6 – 12 months contract (ongoing)

Salary: up to $120K per annum(open for negotiation)

Your new role

• Manage the procurement of various categories within the CAPEX domain within Australia.
• Develop, execute and monitor to ensure on-time execution of tenders across multiple countries from supplier on-boarding, RFx initiation, pre-tender briefings, post-tender interviews and clarifications, proposal evaluations, negotiations, supplier recommendations till contract award.
• Achieve efficiencies through bidding, negotiation and strategic initiatives.
• Develop, lead and maintain measurable performance metrics including reporting tendering status, spend analysis, forecasting, lifecycle cost savings etc.
• Identify and onboard new vendors to ensure a reliable and robust supply chain in new and existing markets
• Understand customer requirements to establish and implement a robust procurement plan that deliver value to the business
• Understand trends in customers’ needs and concerns across categories and work with Category managers with a longer-term view.
• Work collaboratively with Category Managers to innovate within the procurement space, automating and/or improving tools or processes to better support the Procurement Lifecycle.
• Identify best practices or issues and implement solutions to ultimately improve procurement service delivery and strengthen stakeholders’ partnerships.
• Collaborate with suppliers to promote sustainable practices that reduces environmental impact and enhance social responsibility.
• Ensure procurement practices adhere to company’s sustainability policies and target
• Facilitate compliance with company’s supplier qualification process
• Provide inputs to support Supply Chain's optimization of the logistics function
• Partner with Supply Chain to build up materials management systems, processes, and tools
• Support the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Program through the development and scoring of supplier commercial performance KPIs, attending Supplier Business Reviews (SBRs) and delivering on any assigned action items

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Contract/Cost Management or Business Administration from an accredited university.
• 8+ years’ of relevant experience in a performing procurement related work, contract negotiation and bidding, with 5+ years managing CAPEX categories preferably in the Data Centre space.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, work with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple functions to manage complex projects within cost and schedule to deliver results.
• Demonstrated ability to implement category strategies, develop pricing models, to influence and execute effectively across an organization.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Highly proficient in MS Office
• Some travel may be required (<25%)
