Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide legal and administrative support to lawyers across a range of practice areas.

· Assist lawyers with preparing legal documentation (e.g., closing documents, officer's certificates etc.)

· Assist lawyers and the administrative team with administrative tasks, including filing, billing, AML checks and business development activities.

· Liaise directly with clients where necessary on AML documents, billing, meetings and matter-specific affairs.

Skills/Experience

· Degree in Legal Studies

· Strong academic record.

· Legal work experience preferable e.g. previous experience as a paralegal.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.

· Excellent writing and drafting skills.

· Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills.

• Perform legal and factual research

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to support our Legal Department in delivering efficient and high-quality legal services. In this newly created role, you will be reporting to the Head and assist with legal research, document preparation, contract management, and administrative support across a range of matters.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law
• Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
• Assist in contract lifecycle management, including tracking and filing agreements
• Support compliance exercises and regulatory filings
• Organise and maintain legal documents, databases, and records using a CMS or equivalent system
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counsel
• Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submissions
• Provide general administrative support to the Legal Department
• Support the company secretary on routine matters, including scheduling and planning for board meetings
• Work with the Finance Department to track budgetary expenditures

• At least 4 years’ experience (in-house or law firm) preferred
• Strong research and analytical skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, PDPA issues, or handling Government procurement matters would be a plus
• Experience with legal tech / contract management systems is a plus

• Assisting in preparation and drafting legal documents, legal research, e-filing of court documents, compiling of court papers, bundles, authorities & submissions
• Managing timelines and deadlines to ensure compliance
• Handle correspondence including responding to emails, letters, and faxes with all stakeholders
• Monitoring and drafting of legal updates, business development and marketing efforts, including maintaining client lists and registers, sending of legal updates, event planning and execution in respect of seminars and updating of lawyer profiles and ranking lists.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification of Diploma in Law, Legal Studies and Paralegal Studies.
• Minimum one year of experience in in similar capacity is preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with a strong interest in developing a career in the legal field are also welcome to apply.
• Possesses strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multitask and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and IT-savvy.
