Job Scope

• Lead, design and performs method development and validation of new test procedures for incoming projects.

• Act as Technical Reviewer for A2LA accredited tests and non-accredited tests.

• Evaluates analytical results to interpret data and render opinions for projects.

• Liaison with Customers with regards to technical services and perform site visits where required.

• Prepares documents including methods, procedures, standard operating procedures and summary reports.

• Ensure that SOPs follow ISO 17025, cGMP and other regulatory requirements.

• Provides problem-solving skills for test procedures and investigations within laboratory unit.

• Monitor all proficiency-based testing and ensure compliance.

• Participate in audits conducted by external agencies and authorities and in quarterly management review.

• Drive quality and safety improvement initiatives within the department.

• Coach and mentor technical personnel and provide strong technical leadership.

• Supports the Laboratory Manager in all relevant functions

 Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor of Science or related degree.

• Minimum 6 years relevant QC microbiological experience in regulated laboratory, minimum 2 of which should be in a supervisory role.

• Experience in method validation, method transfer, qualifications activities in regulated laboratory.

• Good knowledge of ISO17025, cGMP and other regulatory guidelines.

Job Description:

1. Quality Control & Compliance
Review and approve QC data, ensuring accuracy, data integrity (ALCOA+), and compliance with GMP, QMS, and safety requirements.

2. Microbiological Testing & Monitoring
Oversee and perform microbiological testing (e.g. sterility, bioburden) and environmental monitoring for cleanrooms, ensuring sterility assurance in operations.

3. Investigation & Continuous Improvement
Lead or support investigations (OOS, deviations, CAPA), perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous process and system improvements.

4. Laboratory Operations & Support

5. Team Leadership & Collaboration

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related field.
• Prior experience in pharmaceutical, biologics, or GMP-regulated environment, preferably with aseptic or sterile manufacturing exposure will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with microbiological testing (e.g. sterility, bioburden, environmental monitoring) and aseptic techniques.
• Detail-oriented, strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently and lead or guide junior staff when required.

Job Scope:

• Review/Approve testing documentation and test records. Maintain integrity, accuracy and completeness of QC data and records.
• Meet quality objectives set by management & comply to Alcon, QMS and Safety requirements.
• Timely completion of all compliance activities without overdue, including but not limited to NCI, OOS, CAPA, Effectiveness Check, CR, training, periodic review.
