Assistant Cook Job Description:

An Assistant Cook, or Assistant Chef ensures the kitchen is orderly and assists Cooks to prepare and arrange food. Their duties include cleaning the kitchen area, washing dishes and utensils and ensuring that the Cook has everything required to run the kitchen efficiently.

Assistant Cook duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting the Cook in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling food ingredients

Working hours: Mon to Sat, 9am to 6pm, 9am to 1pm (Sat)


Main duties and responsibilities:

· To select goods for delivery

· Assist to verify quantities, conditions and types of items received or to be issued.

· Maintain proper records of all items received and issued.

· Perform stock counts and update stocks cards.

· Report missing or damaged items to the superior.

· Ensure proper layout and easy access of stocks in the store.

· Perform general warehouse duties e.g. packing of goods, stuffing and unstuffing of containers etc.

· Undertake any other duties in relation to your job scope, as assigned by your superior from time to time.

· Forklift License is required.

• Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and service providers

• Prepare shipment documents, invoices, and packing lists

• Track customer payments and manage supplier payments

• Support sourcing orders and maintain records

• Handle basic office issues and supplies

• Manage mail, phone calls, and office events

• Assist with exhibitions and team activities

• Support filing, insurance renewals, and health screenings

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of logistics experience, ideally with shipping documentation

• Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive

• A team player with good communication skills
