Position Summary

The Assembly Project Leader is the overall Malaysia-side person-in-charge for the semiconductor cleaning equipment assembly project

Job's Mission

Ensure material availability and supply continuity for Contract Manufacturing (CM) and Gas categories by translating demand signals into robust, forward-looking supply plans. Drive planning discipline across supplier capacity, inventory policies, and replenishment strategies to balance service levels, risk, and working capital while ensuring scalable and resilient operations.

What you will be working on

• Own supply planning for CM and Gas across the end-to-end value chain.
• Translate demand/forecast into executable supply and capacity plans with a forward-looking perspective
• Define and govern scheduling agreements and supplier capacity frameworks
• Drive alignment across Demand Planning, ECO Planning, Sourcing, and Inventory Planning
• Ensure proactive risk identification, mitigation, and decision-making on supply scenarios
• Own accountability for material availability, inventory health, and supplier execution performance

Responsibilities

Supply Planning & MRP Governance

• Govern MRP and planning parameters to ensure accurate translation of demand into material requirements
• Manage supply planning balancing forward demand signals vs historical consumption trends 
• Monitor planning master data performance (leadtimes, MOQ, lot size, safety stock) and trigger corrective actions or parameter adjustments in collaboration with Sourcing and Inventory Planning to ensure alignment with supply realities
• Drive continuous improvement of planning accuracy and execution reliability

Supplier Capacity & Scheduling Agreements

• Design and manage supplier scheduling agreement requirements (forecast commitments, flexibility windows, capacity reservations)
• Monitor supplier capacity vs evolving demand requirements (mid/long-term horizon)
• Define capacity allocation and prioritization rules in constrained scenarios
• Drive level-loading strategies to optimize supplier utilization and stability

Material Demand & Supply Alignment

• Develop time-phased supply plans ensuring material availability across CM and Gas
• Own Gross Demand Plan (GDP) and requirement alignment with supplier commitments
• Translate demand insights (forecast changes, ramp-up/ramp-down) into supply actions
• Coordinate with Demand Planning to ensure alignment between forecasts and supply capabilities
• Manage supply scenarios to support new product introduction (NPI) and lifecycle transitions

Inventory Policy & Risk Management

• Validate inventory policies for CM (safety stock, buffers, coverage targets)
• Ensure policies are aligned with forward-looking demand and supply risk profiles
• Monitor inventory health with the support of inventory planning team (excess, shortages, obsolescence) and drive corrective actions
• Perform risk assessments (supply disruption, demand variability, lead time volatility)

Risk Buy & Supply Strategy

• Assess and execute risk buy and buffer strategies in collaboration with ECO Planning and Sourcing
• Balance trade-offs between availability, excess risk, and capacity constraints
• Lead decisions on early build strategies to secure supply continuity
• Define mitigation plans for supply disruptions and escalations

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement

• Track KPIs: material availability, supplier OTD, inventory turns, excess & shortages
• Identify root causes of supply issues and drive corrective actions
• Lead process improvements in supply planning workflows and supplier collaboration models Leverage planning systems (ERP / Kinaxis) and analytics for scenario modelling and decision-making

Cross-functional Planning Integration
Collaborate with:

• Inventory Planning → policy definition, stock optimization, working capital
• ECO Planning → change management, cut-in /cut-out impact on supply
• Sourcing → supplier performance, contract terms, capacity negotiations.
• Integrate supplier performance insights into planning decisions (OTD, yield, constraints).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years in supply/material planning or operations in complex manufacturing

• APICS CPIM /CSCP or equivalent certification

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments using DOE-based approaches, supported by senior technical experts.

As a Senior Process Engineer at ASM, you will drive the development of high‑thermal‑conductivity thin films that enable next generation high‑performance computing (HPC) and advanced packaging. You’ll lead a team of experts working on advanced thermal films compatible with rapidly evolving demands of advanced packaging and heterogenous integration, leveraging ALD/PEALD, CVD/PECVD, and related technologies to turn forward looking roadmaps into manufacturable solutions. By translating demanding customer requirements into breakthrough materials and processes, you’ll help position ASM at the forefront of thermal management for heterogenous integration of advanced logic, foundry, and memory devices.

What you will be working on

• Contribute to research development areas focused on high thermal conductivity thin films for advanced packaging and HPC applications, fostering innovation, technical excellence, and collaboration
• Own the roadmap to develop thermal films or materials aligned to customer performance and integration requirements.
• Leverage ASM’s ALD/PEALD, CVD/PECVD, and surface preparation expertise to design, optimize, and qualify high thermal conductivity materials and stacks for use in advanced devices and packages.
• Drive high thermal conductivity thin film development, including process optimization for deposition rate, uniformity, materials properties, morphology and bondability.
• Define, influence, and drive new hardware requirements and development in close collaboration with hardware and software engineering teams to meet advanced on high thermal conductivity process specifications and integration schemes.
• Collaborate closely with customers, Account Technology Directors, Product Management, and Business Development to align on high thermal conductivity materials roadmaps with customer device and packaging strategies.
• Partner with corporate and global R&D organizations to deliver new materials, surface preparation schemes, and applications that support critical technology inflections in thermal management and advanced packaging.
• Ensure generation and protection of intellectual property and technical publications.
• Stay at the forefront of state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor processing and thermal management technologies, maintaining strong technical communication with industry peers and key customers.
• Communicate at a highly technical level with end customers to build trust in ASM’s ability to solve their most advanced thermal and device challenges.

What we are looking for

• Ph.D. degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the semiconductor or semiconductor capital equipment industry
• Proven track record of developing and delivering new semiconductor process technologies to customers
• Strong working knowledge of semiconductor device physics and manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated credibility working with semiconductor fab managers, senior engineers, and executive stakeholders
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and highly competitive environment
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to collaborate in a global R&D environment
