EY AI & Data is the data and advanced analytics capability within EY Asia-Pacific, with over 500 specialist employees working across multiple industry sectors.

We implement information-driven strategies, data platforms and advanced data analytics solution systems that help grow, optimize and protect client organizations. We go beyond strategy and provide end to end design, build and implementation of real-life data environments and have some of the best architects, project managers, business analysts, data scientists, big data engineers, developers and consultants in the region.

We are looking for passionate AI Engineers to join our growing team. This role combines expertise in artificial intelligence, natural language modelling, machine learning and software engineering to develop and deploy multi-agentic workflows & applications.  

Your key responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy intelligent single / multi-agentic application that leverage GenAI models (e.g. LLMs) and perform task decomposition, planning and execution.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end AI-powered workflows integrated with backend systems, APIs and data pipelines on cloud-based platforms (example Microsoft Azure, AWS).
• Develop, refine, and implement advanced NLP (natural language processing) & predictive models to generate insights from complex structured and unstructured data sets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable GenAI solutions.
• Conduct rapid prototyping, PoCs and experiments in AI agent frameworks (e.g. Lang Framework including Langchain, LangFlow, LangGraph & LangSmith or LlamaIndex)
• Ensure good code quality, packaging meeting production deployment requirements and maintainability through best practices in software engineering.
• Utilize full-stack development knowledge using DevOps with hands-on practice in language like Python, Java, React (Node.js) language to develop end-to-end application.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, presenting findings to a business / management audience and providing strategic recommendations.
• Support the production of scalable and optimised AI or machine learning (ML) models.
• Focus on building algorithms for the extraction, transformation and loading of large volumes of real-time, unstructured data to deploy AI or ML solutions from theoretical data science models.
• Run experiments to test the performance of deployed models, and identifies and resolves bugs that arise in the process.
• Work in a team setting and apply knowledge in statistics, scripting and programming languages required by the firm.
• Work with the relevant software platforms in which the models are deployed.
• Stay current with technical and industry developments and standards to ensure effective and advanced applications of data analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Define success metrics and deliverable timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet strategic objectives.

Skills and attributes for success

• Experience / beginner knowledge in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, , Generative AI, Data Transformation, Scripting.
• Knowledge and experience in project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
• Experience in a delivery role on exploratory analysis, data science, Big Data analytics projects
• Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills and stakeholder management experience
• Experience in business intelligence, data warehousing/platform, and data strategy projects

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Min bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with any of the domain - Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, Generative AI specifically with Large Language Models (LLM).
• Proficiency in Python and other applicable full-stack software programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, language modelling, data mining, and predictive modeling.
• Excellent understanding of data science algorithms, processes, tools, and platforms.
• Possess a strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
• Knowledge of API integration, containerization (E.g., Docker), cloud platforms (E.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices

What to expect:

• Support the development, implementation, and testing of a new data analytics system as part of a project team.
• Generate data-driven insights through Excel visualisations (e.g., charts, pivot tables, dashboards)
• and support testing of enhancements to data visualisation tools and pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including data custodians, data engineers, product managers, and contractors to deliver solutions aligned with organisational needs.
• Co-ordinate project operations such as vendor management, research material reviews, survey platform testing, and ensuring quality deliverables.
• Consolidate and standardise data from multiple sources while maintaining data integrity and consistency.

Requirements:

• Possesses minimum a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience in quantitative market research project management, data profiling and review.
• Working knowledge of R and/or Python would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in data management.

SoH invites outstanding academics to apply for the position of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Southeast Asian History. The successful candidate should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching, research, and publication.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research on the history of Southeast Asia. While not a requirement, research interests in the interdisciplinary humanities (in particular, Digital, Environmental, and Medical Humanities) or Global Asia, may be an advantage.

In addition to developing their own research program, the successful candidate will actively participate in curriculum development, teaching and administrative/leadership duties, at a level that aligns with the expectations of a world-class, research-intensive university. The successful candidate will conduct courses on Southeast Asian history and their other areas of expertise.

At all levels, the succesful candidate will be expected to:

· Develop a robust, world-class research agenda and maintain a strong publication record;

· Secure research funding from competitive grants;

· Contribute to curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate levels;

· Deliver engaging and effective teaching;

· Mentor and supervise graduate students and/or postdoctoral researchers;

· Undertake administrative roles at the department and/or institution level.

In addition, applicants at the Associate Professor (tenured) and Full Professor (tenured) ranks will be expected to:

· Mentor junior faculty members;

· Undertake more substantial leadership roles in the History department, School or College.

Requirements at Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level:

· A PhD in history or in a related field.

· Demonstrated excellence in research, evidenced by a strong publication record and a well-developed plan for future research/publications.

· Demonstrated capacity to contribute to curriculum development and deliver excellent teaching.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Preferable to have success in securing grant funding.

· Preferable to have a demonstrated capacity to undertake administrative and service roles.

· Preferable to have a demonstrated capacity to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, research staff, and/or postdocs.

Requirements at the Associate Professor (tenured) and Full Professor (tenured) ranks:

· A PhD in history or in a related field.

· Demonstrated excellence in research, evidenced by a strong publication record in reputable journals and books with reputable publishers.

· Proven ability to secure research funding.

· Recognition in the research community, such as invited talks, awards, or memberships in professional societies.

· A good track record of supervising students, research staff, and/or postdocs, as well as mentoring junior faculty.

· Experience in administrative, leadership and service roles.
