Technical Procurement Manager

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Procurement Manager to join our Supply Chain team in Singapore. In this pivotal role, you will be the key link between innovation and supply chain execution, ensuring the successful sourcing of critical electronic components for our hearing aids and accessories.

You will play a vital role in securing our supply chain resilience by supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and leading "2nd Sourcing" initiatives. • New‑Product Sourcing

 Work with R&D and Strategic Procurement to define technical and cost requirements for hearing‑aid components (e.g., ICs, MEMS microphones, batteries, PCBs, plastics, connectors).

 Identify and evaluate new suppliers for electronic and mechanical parts used in small‑form‑factor medical‑device products.

You are a technically savvy procurement professional with a solid foundation in electronics manufacturing. You are comfortable diving into technical data and drawings and can communicate effectively with both engineers and suppliers. • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Supply Chain.

JOB MISSION

The Application Engineer Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, training and development of Application Engineers who provide support for integration or technical projects.  Help manage the P/L (profit and loss) while ensuring all client and company business needs are met. 

DUTIES

·       Attend meetings with customers and Project Management team to analyze and determine customer system needs and provide recommendations.

The Wallet App team's goal is to make your phone a better Wallet than your physical wallet. We support Payment Cards, Loyalty, Identity by providing a platform to view, organize, and search for all the useful information in Google Wallet. We work across Google's Product Areas to integrate Wallet with other Google products. We are a team of Android, and back-end engineers dedicated to product excellence, and excited by the opportunities for Wallet growth.

• Build new features and a platform for Google Wallet on Android for use across Google and in the real world.
• Work with Product Managers (PMs) and User Experience (UX) on building new features and enhancing existing features within the Google Wallet Android app, as well as help new integrators into Wallet make sure their data fits into the platform.
• Accommodate Wallet's growing scale and take advantage of the newest Android features, as well as help maintain and evolve the Wallet app's integration with Google Play Services and the underlying Android platform.
• Set the technical direction for the organization by building common abstractions, setting best practices, and working with the client infrastructure team to ensure growth.
• Partner and collaborate with existing United States (US)-based Android and Wearable app teams.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with full stack development, with back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 3 years of experience in Android application development including Java or Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, and experience with Application programming interface (API) development and design.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience with working in a matrixed organization.
• Experience with launching and maintaining Android applications.
• Experience with testing methodologies and best practices for mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the procurement function to deliver compliant and efficient sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Establish and develop a procurement framework that ensures user compliance and process integrity
• Develop and strengthen the supplier management network to enhance the tendering process with transparency and integrity
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align procurement requirements and improve user satisfaction with procured products and services
• Enhance procurement processes by automating functions through digitalization and leveraging E-commerce platforms and technological tools
• Manage procurement spend for critical spares and consumables to achieve cost savings and budget adherence
• Build and develop procurement team capabilities to support organizational growth and operational excellence

Required competencies and certifications

• Proven experience managing procurement teams and leading successful negotiations in manufacturing or equipment supply industries
• Strong communication skills to understand business needs, align supplier capabilities, and conduct negotiations using analytical and commercial judgment
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and software to support procurement decision-making
• Solid knowledge of contract management and procurement best practices
• Fluency in English and business-level proficiency in Chinese to engage effectively with suppliers
• Experience working with Chinese suppliers and knowledge of supplier networks and business practices across China and East Asia

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5–10 years of sourcing and procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial capacity, preferably in steel or heavy industries

Your key responsibilities:

• Apply data mining, data modelling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyse information from large structured and unstructured datasets
• Develop and implement techniques and analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful
  information using dataoriented programming languages and visualisation software.
• Visualise, interpret, and report data findings and may create dynamic data reports as well
• Design, develop, and maintain the organization's data architecture, including data pipelines, databases, and data warehouses.
• Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to efficiently move data from various sources to the data
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to identify and resolve data issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.

Skills and attributes for success

• Experience in ETL, Data Engineering, Scripting.
• Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
• Experience in a delivery role on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Big Data or analytics projects
• Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills and stakeholder management experiences
• Experience in business intelligence, data warehousing/platform, and data strategy projects

To qualify for the role, you must have

• At least a Bachelor's degree in any of these faculties: Computer Science/Information Technology/Programming & Systems Analysis/Science (Computer Studies)
• Minimum total 6 years work experience in at least 1 of these job titles: (1) Chief Data Scientist (2) Data Engineer (3) Data Scientist (4) Head of Data Analytics
• Experience in development and maintenance of Data processing pipelines
• Experience developing machine learning workflows
• Work closely with business analysts to create data components
• Application packaging and deployment experience across DEV to PROD environments

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Dashboarding experience with Tableau / Power BI
• Experience in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Consulting experience and background, including engaging directly with clients
