Job Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Architecture, or other related discipline with minimum 1 year of similar working experience.

The Content Safety organization in Core provides safety solutions that protect Google’s users from exposure to offensive, sensitive or harmful content. The team unblock and accelerate Google's product launches by providing quality implementations of company-wide standards for Responsible AI. The team combines subject matter expertise in the content safety domain and a practice of machine learning and AI-based techniques with the production-grade experience in serving infrastructure and product integrations to protect users from harm, maintain Google’s engagement in the area of online safety across the industry, and make foundational models and the internet safer for society.

Job responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain and scale content safety platforms to safeguard business-critical products for Google.
• Deliver quality and future-proof content safety self-service solutions that combine content safety protection with production-grade infrastructure.
• Enable safety teams to protect users from exposures to offensive, sensitive or harmful content, and unlock new opportunities for the business.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices among available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Identify opportunities to mitigate internal signal developer issues, working with the community to prioritize and launch improvements.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential selection making), Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure, or specialization in a related ML field.
• 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging).

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in Responsible AI or safety-adjacent fields, such as factuality, or product policy.
• Experience in content safety applied to software products.
• Experience in scaling pipelines, deploying systems, and designing defensive architecture to meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
