Duties and Responsibilities
· Source and map ESG data to support sustainable investment analytics for regulatory and client reporting
· Utilize tools like Python, Power BI/Tableau for the analysis and visualization of ESG data, delivering promptly upon reporting requirements
· Keep up to date with ESG regulations, notably in the EU (SFDR, CSRD etc.) and the UK and emerging regulations and disclosure standards (e.g. IFRS ISSB)
· Contribute to the improvement and automation of our ESG data sourcing, processing, analysis, and reporting practices including evaluating external data and solution partnerships
· Lead development and integration of AI solutions within the Global ESG space to the Global Sustainable Investment team
· Act as the central point of contact on ESG data aggregation, working with the wider business to define, test and implement a central repository of key data for use across the firm
· Oversee and execute proper maintenance of systems and databases to ensure the accuracy and integrity of ESG data, including development of a common ESG taxonomy and data catalogue
· Advise business on ESG data availability and how to effectively utilize ESG data for strategic decision-making
· Work on various ESG data projects with internal stakeholders, incl. global sustainable investment team, investment teams, risk, client services, product to meet reporting requirements and enhance ESG solutions
· Develop various ESG reporting templates and analytics tools for investment teams. This assistance is operational support in nature
· Ensure the firm’s ESG data capabilities are kept up todate in line with changing regulatory environments and evolving client and business needs
· Provide ESG data inputs and analytical support for enterprise-wide projects such as climate stress testing, focusing on research and operational processes
Knowledge and Skills
· Adept with writing code (Python is the preferred language) to manipulate large datasets is essential
· Strong SQL knowledge will be considered favourable
· Genuine interest in ESG
· Willingness to (further) develop knowledge of ESG data and analytics
· Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
· Have strong attention to detail, be numerate and logical in their approach to problem solving
· Ability to take ownership and responsibility and to be able to multi-task and support the team
· Possess a high aptitude of analytical and mathematical skills which are required for calculating, reviewing, understanding and disseminating data
· Must demonstrate strong service orientation by supporting internal departments with timely and accurate responses to client requests, and by engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a support capacity.
· Able to communicate effectively both written and orally
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a prerequisite
· Data visualization skillsets will be considered favourable
· Must show the ability to meet deadlines, establish priorities and concentrate on detailed information sometimes under stressful conditions
· The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical even when working remotely
Experience and Qualification
· Previous experience with/exposure to ESG data (MSCI, Sustainalytics, Bloomberg etc.)
· Experience in reporting in line with UK and EU regulations, incl. SFDR, EU Taxonomy and TCFD would be a plus
· Familiarity with carbon accounting standards such as PCAF preferred
· Educated to degree level or equivalent in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Data Analytics or a related field
· ESG CFA preferred, but not required
· Deep understanding of data transformation and governance, skilled in managing metadata to ensure data quality and adherence to standards
· Experience with the use of FactSet and/or Bloomberg
· Experienced in agile project delivery, adept at breaking down complex business requirements into concise, actionable user stories.
· Widespread knowledge of investment products
