Oracle Database Administrator

The Position

We are seeking a professional DBA with the technical skills and knowledge that extends across Application/ Server/ Storage/ Network technologies to administer a large,complex production DB environment and troubleshoot and provide system level guidance/ solutions. The role also performs effective centralized database administration for multiple databases globally. This includes Oracle databases for production, testing, and staging environments across the company. This opportunity will suit an Oracle DBA who enjoys providing technical guidance and who can play a key role in supporting and driving forward our database developments. Responsibilities

Design,develop, implement, and maintain our core Oracle applications. Maintain our SQL/ PLSQL processes.

Ensure DB availability. Proactively manage and maintain security standards andcontrols.

Actively seek to optimize and simplify our architecture.

Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the DB.

Execution of data migration jobs and scripts as required.

Assist the infrastructure team in sizing hardware used for the DB. Support and collaborate with product developers.

Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans. Create a reliable backup strategy.

Ensure database backups are appropriately. executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.

Determine and document DB policies, procedures and standards.

Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues.

Ensure SLA's & operational KPI’s are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions when major incidents occur

Required skills

• IdeallyOracle Certified DB Professional, experience with Oracle, preferably in a lead role. Experience should include
• DB design (modelling and normalization), capacity planning, performance tuning,storage management, back-up and recovery, managing schemas,report generation and DB clustering technologies.
• Operatingsystem experience in Linux.Oracle management tools (Data Guard, RMAN, Data pump, Golden Gate).
• Partitioning.•Architecture design principles. Good problem solver focused and dedicated developer with ability to work on your own as well as with a team.
• Handson experience with DB standards and end user applications-translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment technology.
• Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment Must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail.

The System Analyst will support the analysis,design and implementation of workflow-driven enterprise systems of the client,including document and content management platforms (e.g., OpenText). This is atechno-functional role requiring strong workflow understanding, technical aptitude and the ability to collaborate across business and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Analysis

• Gather, analyze and document business and system requirements
• Translate requirements into functional specifications, workflows and system designs
• Perform impact analysis and support solution definition

Workflow & Process Management

• Analyze and design end-to-end workflows and approval processes (e.g., maker-checker, document lifecycle)
• Ensure workflows align with business needs, operational efficiency and compliance standards
• Ensure application solutioning aligns with defined application technical and functional design principles
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation

Techno-Functional Coordination

• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams
• Work closely with developers and architects to ensure accurate implementation
• Support integration discussions and data flow analysis

Testing & Implementation

• Review test cases and scenarios and support SIT/UAT execution
• Coordinate defect resolution and ensure quality delivery
• Support deployment, release activities and post-implementation validation

Support & Maintenance

• Assist in troubleshooting system issues and support production environments
• Participate in incident and problem management activities
• Ensure proper documentation and knowledge management

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 8-10+ years of experience as a System Analyst / Business Analyst (Techno-functional)
• Strong understanding of workflow-based systems and business processes
• Good technical knowledge of system integrations, APIs and data flows
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders

Must Have

• Experience with OpenText or Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms
• Exposure to banking systems and regulatory environments
• Familiarity with Agile / Waterfall methodologies

Stakeholder Management

• Engage and manage stakeholders across business, operations and technology, including senior management (MD/Director level)
• Act as the primary interface between business users and IT delivery teams
• Facilitate decision-making through structured governance and clear communication

VendorManagement & Continuous Improvement

• Manage vendor performance and deliverables where applicable
• Identify and drive process improvements, automation and efficiency initiatives
• Support technology transformation and modernization programs

Delivery& Governance

• Lead end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives, enhancements and releases across enterprise platforms
• Establish and drive governance cadence including steering committees, working groups and executive reporting
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Manage delivery risks, dependencies and change requests across multiple workstreams

Reporting& Dashboarding

• Prepare and present management dashboards, KPIs and status reports to senior stakeholders
• Provide insights on delivery health, risk exposure and mitigation strategies
• Track and report progress against milestones, SLAs and key performance indicators

Cross-functionalLeadership

• Coordinate across application, infrastructure, network, security and vendor teams
• Drive alignment on solution design, delivery timelines and operational readiness

• Oversee production support (L2/L3) to ensure platform stability and performance

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 10-12+ years of experience in technology delivery / program management within banking or financial services

• Proven experience in governance, reporting and delivery management
• Familiarity with Enterprise Content Management / OpenText - must have
