Accounts Payable (AP)     

• Process and record suppliers' invoices accurately and on a timely basis
• Reconcile invoices against suppliers' statements and supporting documents
• Statements of Account (SOA)
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies
• Record payments in the accounting system and maintain proper documentation and filing
• Process payments to vendors on a timely basis

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Prepare and record invoices in the accounting system
• Scan and send invoices, together with supporting documents to customers
• Verify completeness of supporting documents and ensure proper filing
• Record incoming payments accurately
• Prepare and issue Statements of Account (SOA) to customers and follow up on outstanding balances

Expense Processing

• Assist in processing staff expense claims, including data entry and verification
• Inventory Support
• Assist in stock take and cycle counts where required
• Assist to retrieve documentation for stock valuation purposes

Others

• Maintain and update customer and vendor master data in the accounting system
• Ensure proper, accurate and systematic filing of accounting and supporting documents
• Provide administrative and operational support to the finance team

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will support our Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, and upholding the unique flavors of our Nyonya cuisine. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of sauces, stocks, and base components to ensure consistent flavour profiles
• Monitor cooking temperatures, timings, and batch quality to maintain product standards throughout the day
• Coordinate production schedules to meet daily order requirements, catering demands, and outlet replenishment
• Conduct regular checks on equipment (steamers, stoves, ovens, etc.) to ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently
• Assist in implementing workflow improvements to enhance productivity and reduce bottlenecks in the kitchen
• Support the standardization of recipes and ensure all team members follow SOPs accurately
• Ensure smooth handover between shifts with proper documentation of production levels, issues, and outstanding tasks
• Assist in training staff on new machinery, tools, or updated cooking techniques as required
• Uphold strict hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards across the production area
• Take charge in the Sous Chef’s absence and lead the team to ensure smooth operations

Assistant Cook duties and responsibilities

The primary duty of an Assistant Cook is to assist the Cook in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Their main duties include

• Assisting the Cook in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling food ingredients

• Cleaning and sanitising the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards

• Washing, disinfecting and properly storing cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment

• Buying, weighing and storing ingredients and food supplies

• Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens

• Managing inventory, unloading supplies and organising the storeroom

Assistant Cook skills and qualifications

A successful Assistant Cook candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications needed to perform duties effectively. These qualifications include:

Assistant Cook experience requirements

Assistant Cooks have no specific work experience requirements. However, employers prefer candidates who have worked with a cook or have experience in a kitchen-related role. Applicants who have worked in restaurants, commercial kitchens, catering agencies and hotels are ideal for this role. Candidates can also receive valuable experience through volunteering. Candidates can receive experience through formal trainings and internships.
