Job Purpose

We are seeking a meticulous, independent, and high-caliber Accountant to oversee our daily financial operations, manage our investment portfolios, and ensure robust financial governance. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the complete spectrum of financial, management, and fund accounting (including Full Set of Accounts and Net Asset Value calculations). As this role involves direct reporting and regular strategic alignment with our key business stakeholders and the business owner, native or professional-level fluency in both English and Mandarin is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Set of Accounts: Maintain and manage the full spectrum of financial accounting functions, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), fixed assets, and cash flow management.

• Fund Accounting & NAV Calculation: Oversee the accounting for investment portfolios, including the timely and accurate calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV), tracking of fund performance metrics, and reconciliation of investment positions, cash balances, and trade confirmations with custodians/brokers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA Singapore).

• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience managing a full set of accounts. Prior experience in fund accounting, portfolio valuation, or working within a single/multi-family office, asset management firm, or fund administration environment is highly valued.

• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin is mandatory. Must be fully comfortable discussing financial metrics, portfolio performance, regulatory compliance, and business strategies with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and management.

• Contribute to monthly closing activities and financial analysis.

5. SAP Controlling & User Support

• Provide support to SAP controlling module users, including troubleshooting and guidance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certification is a plus).
• Minimum 3 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a multinational environment or Big 4 professional services firms. For Senior Accountant position, minimum 8 years of relevant experience is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your primary responsibility will be to support the Finance Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of billing and receivables processes, which are critical to maintaining healthy cash flow for the business. This role requires close collaboration with Fee Earners, Business Support Teams, and clients. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Invoicing and Accounts Receivables Management

• Prepare regular WIP and AR reports for management review
• Meet with the Partners regularly to assess billable WIP and support debts collection efforts
• Manage daily invoicing activities using Elite 3E to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare proforma invoices for retainer fees
• Ensure invoices comply with GST regulations, client agreements, and firm policies
• Handle trust account transactions in accordance to Solicitors' Accounts Rules and maintain accurate client ledgers
• Post and reconcile daily receipts, ensuring compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules and internal policies
• Support timely collection of outstanding debts (including but not limited to client liaison)
• Maintain proper documentation for trust, invoicing and receipting transactions
• Act as the key contact for resolving billing and receipting queries, working closely with Fee Earners and Business Support teams to ensure timely and accurate issue resolution

Month end closing and Statutory Filing

• Prepare Bank Reconciliations
• Assist with month-end journal postings
• Maintain assigned monthly balance sheet schedules
• Prepare and reconcile quarterly GST returns

Cashflow Management

• Prepare cashflow forecasts to support financial planning
• Ensure sufficient funds are available for daily operational needs

Banking

• Liaise with banking partners on operational and administrative matters
• Assist in updating internal management documents and preparing bank-related forms

Others

• Provide assistance within the department in the absence of other team members
• Assist in statutory audits
• Identify process gaps and propose improvements to enhance billing accuracy and operational efficiency
• Perform adhoc duties and support projects as required, including user acceptance testing for system upgrades and annual budget preparation

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for an experienced candidate with:

• At least 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in finance
• Prior experience in law firms, professional services environment or partnership model is preferred
• Familiarity with Elite 3E is desirable
• Strong technical skills, including good working knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and Singapore GST regulations
• Proficient Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word and Excel)
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• A pro-active and solution-oriented mindset
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
• Willing to support Accounts Payables functions as needed

Position Summary

The Financial and Management Accountant safeguards the organisation’s financial integrity by delivering timely management reporting, strengthening internal controls and compliance, and ensuring accurate costing and analysis of programmes and workshops. The role partners closely with programme teams and an outsourced accounting service provider that performs monthly book closures.

The role also contributes to finance digital transformation and process automation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control.

Key Responsibilities

Management Reporting and Financial Analysis

·       Coordinate with the outsourced accounting service provider on month-end activities

·       Ensure timely submission of required monthly documentation

·       Review bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset schedules

·       Analyse monthly income and expenditure statements and balance sheets

·       Review work performed by the Finance Executive

·       Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting

·       Support the annual audit and respond to audit queries

·       Develop dashboards and KPIs for management decision-making

Internal Controls and Compliance

·       Design and strengthen internal control procedures across finance and programmes

·       Create, update, and track required finance and workshop forms

·       Conduct periodic compliance checks and spot audits

·       Maintain finance SOPs, policies, and approval workflows

Workshop and Programme Financial Oversight

·       Analyse workshop costs, reimbursements, attendance, and variances

·       Review and validate workshop proposals, budgets, attendance, and completion reports

·       Provide programme teams with performance summaries and improvement recommendations

·       Identify gaps and work with teams to ensure KPIs are met

Digital Transformation and Process Automation

·       Design and implement simple workflow and reporting automations

·       Evaluate tools for accounting, document management, and approvals

·       Support testing, rollout, and adoption of digital solutions

·       Improve data accuracy, audit trails, and documentation discipline

·       Recommend enhancements to reduce manual effort and strengthen controls

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience working with outsourced accounting providers preferred
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and documentation requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
