What we're looking for

Responsibilities:

• Oversee construction activities and progress, planning, implementing and monitoring work schedules in accordance with master work schedules and established budgets and ensuring delivery of quality work that meets contractual requirements
• Oversee quality control on site and together with the safety team, ensure Environmental, Health and Safety practices are carried out effectively by all parties (internal & external) working on site
• Manage and control workers on site and monitor their work closely to ensure quality standards and keep site safe and neat
• Understand and interpret drawings and specifications, and check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
• Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect
• Ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications and established budgets
• Liaise with all internal and external parties involved in the project
• Liaise with consultants on technical issues, and handle and resolve any technical and engineering problems that may arise
• Provide guidance to supervisors relating to construction works, ensure progress according to schedule, quality standards are maintained, site inspections are carried out and technical and other site issues are resolved on time
• Supervise, manage and coordinate with  sub-contractors to ensure quality of work and scope of work is within specifications and established budgets
• Plan and organise site work efficiently e.g. manpower allocation, plant and site facilities to meet agreed deadlines
• Manage and coordinate with purchasing department and various suppliers for timely purchase of materials & supplies (e.g. rebar, formwork, concrete, scaffolds, sanitary fittings) to site, delivery checking and verification to execute contract works and ensure no delays or gaps in schedule
• Inspect sites to monitor job progress and assess and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree/ Diploma in Civil/ Structural Engineering or any related fields
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in Construction or Site Management
• Independent, meticulous in work, good leadership, manpower & resources allocation skills, team player, with ability to plan work efficiently in advance and build rapport with all levels of stakeholders
• Ability to speak and write well in English

The Electrical Designer works with a team of engineers and electricians who coordinate and carry out all onboard / yard tasks related to the new build, repair, and improvement of the electrical systems. He / she performs a variety of duties as follow:

Task Management

• Work with project engineers to define electrical & electronic system design specifications
• Validates electrical designs and technical data for ship systems
• Manage external vendor and contractors to deliver systems that meet design specification and regulatory regulations
• Responsible for on time, on budget, delivery of electrical systems
• Provide guidance to ensure commissioning of vessel systems are completed on time
• Ensuring the quality of deliverables are met
• Adhering with approved company processes
• Continually seek to identify & minimize areas of risk and/or waste
• Provide technical and design expertise
• Understanding of Class and Flag requirements
• Ensure OHS&E policies & guidelines are adhered to

Essential

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, or similar disciplines
• Understanding of ship systems and able to interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge in use of MS Office, Autocad

• Excellent grasp of the English language.
