SJI International Elementary School is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and bilingual Learning Support Teacher to join our vibrant team starting in January 2027. The role involves working with students aged 4 to 12 years through in-class support and individualised pull-out interventions. We require a teacher who has experience supporting learning needs in both English and Chinese. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering differentiated learning strategies to meet diverse student needs across both languages.

Experience in a similar learning support role is advantageous, and familiarity with inclusive education practices in a bilingual context is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be someone who is able to collaborate closely with colleagues, manage planning time effectively, and show flexibility and creativity. Applicants should respect and appreciate the school’s Catholic Lasallian identity, although they are not required to share the same faith.

Primary Responsibility:

To design and deliver high-quality Learning Support interventions through a dual-language (Chinese/English) model. The primary focus is to identify and address additional learning needs for students in both languages—ensuring a strong foundation in language screening and targeted support to empower all learners to thrive holistically and achieve their full potential within the supportive ethos of SJI International, while upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and student well-being.

Specific Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

• Deliver targeted individual and small-group learning interventions in both English and Chinese to support diverse student needs.
• Collaborate with homeroom and specialist teachers to design, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Provide expert guidance to classroom teachers on effective differentiation, scaffolding, and bilingual support strategies
• Create a stimulating, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment that features bilingual resources.

Assessment, Recording and Reporting:

• Lead the early identification and screening of learning needs, specifically utilising Chinese diagnostic tools and assessments alongside English standardised frameworks.
• Collect, analyse, and maintain accurate assessment data to monitor student progress and evaluate intervention metrics.
• Keep comprehensive, confidential student records in alignment with school data protection policies.
• Communicate transparently and regularly with parents regarding screening outcomes, IEP targets, and overall progress.

Standards and Quality Assurance:

• Support the strategic goals of the Student Success team and align bilingual support initiatives with the school improvement plan.
• Actively engage in the school's Professional Reflection and Development (PRD) cycle promote continuous personal and professional growth.
• Participate in standardisation and moderation processes to ensure consistency of support across all year groups.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, DipEd).
• Complete fluency in spoken and written Chinese and English.
• Practical experience screening learning needs specifically using Chinese screening tools.

■Executive Assistant to CEO and Administration Head:

• Provide full spectrum of secretarial support to CEO and Administration Head including but not limited to calendar management, coordination of meetings, travel arrangements, preparation of presentation materials and expense claims.

• Coordinate and liaise with internal and external parties for all meetings and conferences arranged.

• Support in preparation of manuscripts (e.g. media interview, review, textbook).

• Ad-hoc duties as and when required.

■Administrative tasks and Office Management:

• Preparation of invoices and documents.

• Ordering of materials needed for shipment such as dry ice, boxes and etc.

Job Requirements:

• Degree holder of any discipline with minimum 1 year of secretarial experience in the sciences/ pharmaceutical/ medical related industry.

• Related experiences in providing secretarial support to various institutional reviews

• Experienced in reading and extracting literature reviews from medical articles.

• Proficiency in Japanese Language is a must to liaise with Japanese speaking employees, external clients and Japan HQ.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate research grant administration policies, guidelines as well as terms and conditions in accordance with funding agencies’ and Institute’s regulations, including compliance requirements.
• Provide consultation to research teams on grants processes, budgeting, and guidelines as and when required.
• Collaborate with team members in research support initiatives/events that are organised by the Research Support and Grants Management (RSGM) unit.
• Design/create grant-related infographics, posters, and/or collaterals for stakeholder communication and events where required.

Requirements

• A Polytechnic diploma.

• Preferably with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in research development, grant management, or a related role in a university or research setting.

• Able to learn fast, multi-task, prioritise, and work within tight timelines.

• Possess good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills to work with faculty and staff across various departments.

• Strong team player.

• Strong numerical skills with an eye for detail with the ability to review and improve research proposals when necessary.

• Strong planning and organisational skills.

• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and willingness to learn or use new IT software, AI tools and applications as and when required.

• Able to monitor compliance in policies and uphold governance of policies.

• Experience in event management will be an added advantage.
