We are seeking a Research Engineer to support the scale up of the synthesis of nanomaterials and the development of a more cost effective synthetic route to achieve some of these materials. This role involves extensive use of wet chemistry lab facilities, characterization tools and planning and coordinating of the meetings with company and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with the research team under Prof Lam Yeng Ming to develop scale up processes and also planning and coordination of the project.

Role Summary

You will execute and support research in laser material processing, ranging from laser surface texturing, laser cleaning, laser micro-machining, laser peening, and laser metal deposition. The role will also involve supporting characterization work, such as optical microscope and SEM imaging, sample preparation, residual stress and fatigue life measurement, analyzing of data and compilation, and overseeing other day-to-day activities such as procurement, equipment maintenance and laboratory supervision as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and execute R&D efforts in laser material processing.
• Conduct experimental trials; optimise process parameters to meet functional requirements (wear resistance, water affinity, surface hardness and roughness etc.).
• Perform materials and microstructural characterisation: sample preparation (sectioning, mounting, polishing, etc.), microscopy (optical, SEM), surface energy measurements, hardness / mechanical testing, etc.

Background & Scientific Context

Heart failure (HF) affects 2.5% of Singapore's population and is the leading cardiac cause of hospital admission – presenting a decade earlier and more aggressively than in Europe or North America. The 30% rehospitalization rate within 90 days of discharge is both a major clinical burden and a window of opportunity for early, data-driven intervention.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher with proven expertise in signal processing, in user or patient research studies, and in creating software for participant testing. You will collaborate with clinicians and be responsible for audio data collection of heart and lung sounds in the clinic, for creating an annotated database, and for validating sound classification prototypes in a pilot clinical diagnostic study. You will work on prototype algorithms for classification of heart and lung sounds and develop approaches for integrating multimodal data from mobility sensing and other biomarkers to create a reliable tool for early decompensation detection in ambulant HF patients.

This is a fixed-term contract until March 2029 when applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on classification algorithms of heart and lung sounds, on multimodal data analysis and fusion, and on verifying the technology against requirements.
• Work with clinicians on data collection from heart failure patients and build a database under consideration of data protection and ethical requirements
• Develop a tool for audio data collection in the clinic, advance it into a clinical audio classification prototype and validate it in a pilot clinical study.

You will provide operational, administrative and data support for the TEACH & Community Programmes, ensuring smooth programme delivery, strong data management and reliable systems support. This role includes analysing programme and operational data, supporting digital systems, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to enable informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

1. Programme Implementation and Management

·       Support the promotion of programmes to the relevant target groups and community partners

·      Manage operational and administrative matters relating to student engagement, including class assignment, fee collection, attendance tracking, distribution of curriculum materials and retention, in accordance with organisational and divisional governance protocols and timelines

As part of the selection process, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete an Excel assessment during the interview. The assessment will cover functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables and conditional formulas to evaluate candidates’ ability to analyse, interpret and work with data. Candidates who perform well will progress to the next stage of the recruitment process.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated AI Research & Development Intern to join our AI Product group that delivers innovative Computer Vision solutions to global customers.

You will conform to high standards and work in a cutting-edge, dynamic, and professionally challenging environment.

As part of your role you will:

• Implement practical solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), foundational Computer Vision (CV) models, and agentic AI to address real-world challenges.
• Conduct rigorous experiments to validate model performance, including data preparation, evaluation, and benchmarking, ensuring reliability and accuracy.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept systems to test innovative ideas and demonstrate their feasibility and value.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Familiar with machine learning and deep learning concepts, with hands-on project experience or strong interest in real-world applications.
• Proficient in at least one programming language, and familiar with database systems, Linux environments, Docker, and Git version control tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, logical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills.

Duration:

• Available for at least a 6-month internship.
• Able to work at least 4 days a week (Preferably full-time / 5 days a week).
• We are flexible with start and end dates and allow flexibility to accommodate exams, leave etc.

Note: Due to the nature of the role, the position is considered for candidates that are only based in Singapore or have experience studying/working in Singapore

Role Overview
Drive workforce capability development in advanced manufacturing by shaping training strategies, evaluating course effectiveness, identifying industry needs and gaps, and building strong partnerships with training providers and institutions.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead the review and enhancement of training programmes to ensure alignment with evolving industry needs, emerging technologies, and best practices in areas such as Industry 4.0, AI, and sustainable manufacturing

·       Identify skills gaps and emerging training demand by analysing industry trends and mapping of the training landscape across sectors

·       Facilitate the development and continuous improvement of new or customised training programmes in collaboration with IHLs and training providers

·       Establish and manage partnerships to expand the reach, adoption, and impact of training

Requirements

·       Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Fresh graduates with a strong passion for workforce capability development are encouraged to apply

·       Good understanding of Singapore’s workforce training ecosystem and Skills Framework (SSG)

·       Knowledge and skills in training programme development, curriculum design, or workforce capability building

·       Familiarity with advanced manufacturing domains (e.g. digitalisation, AI, smart manufacturing, sustainability); Knowledge and practical skills in AI tools (e.g. data analytics, automation, generative AI) will be an added advantage.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate industry needs into impactful programmes

·       Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging industry and training providers

·       Proactive, adaptable, and self-driven to deliver meaningful impact
