Position: Cost Control Executive

Reporting to:  Corporate Finance Manager

Department: Corporate Finance & Accounts

Location: Kuala Belait.

Purpose of the Position:

Responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the group while ensuring strong cost control and financial discipline across all divisions including retail supermarkets, wholesale distribution, poultry farming, and distribution supply operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting

I. Monitor and analysis financial performance including sales, gross margins, operating expenses, and profitability.

II. Ensure accuracy of accounting records and compliance with financial reporting standards.

2. Budgeting & Financial Planning

I. Assistance in annual budgets and financial forecasts for all divisions with a proper cost analysis.

II. Support management in strategic planning and financial decision making.

3. Cost Control & Cost Management

I. Develop and implement cost control systems across all business divisions.

II. Monitor operational expenses including procurement, logistics, labour costs, utilities, and administrative overheads.

III. Conduct cost analysis for retail operations, warehouse management, poultry farming, and Wholesale operation.

IV. Establish and monitor cost benchmarks and KPI to track division performance.

V. Identify areas of cost leakage and recommend corrective actions.

VI. Work with division heads to implement cost reduction initiatives.

VII. Monitor cost per unit metrics such as cost per product, cost per delivery, and cost per production cycle.

4. Operational Cost Analysis 

I. Analyze operational costs across retail outlets, wholesale operations, and production units.

II. Review inventory carrying costs, wastage, shrinkage, and stock losses.

III. Evaluate supplier pricing and procurement cost structures.

IV. Evaluate the performance of division, products and brands and provide independent observations.

V. Monitor procurement activity and cost analysis.

VI. Provide financial insights to improve pricing strategies and margin performance.

5. Investment & Project Evaluation

I. Conduct financial feasibility studies for new business projects and capital investments.

II. Develop financial models including IRR, NPV, and payback analysis.

III. Monitor financial performance of expansion projects and capital investments.

6. Internal Control & Risk Management

I. Establish and enforce financial control procedures across all divisions.

II. Strengthen inventory control systems in retail outlets, warehouses, and farm facilities and minimize the stock loss to bare minimum.

III. Ensure proper approval processes for expenditures and procurement.

IV. Monitor standard operating procedures for financial operations.

V. Supervise finance and accounting staff across the organization.

VI. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

VII. Provide training and guidance to improve financial discipline across departments.

VIII. Monitor Shrinkage loss and spoilage across all division due by stock variance analysis.

IX. Frequent monitoring of Dead stock and slow moving stocks.
