The Role

The VP Commercial is the senior commercial voice in the hotel, responsible for the total revenue strategy and the teams that execute it. You will directly manage the Director of Sales and Director of Marketing, and you will own the hotel's distribution architecture, channel mix, and revenue growth strategy across all markets and segments.

This is a genuinely broad commercial role - not a traditional hotel DOS or Revenue Manager position. We are currently looking to hire a Strategy & Planning Director for APAC within AEG International to support the development and expansion of our business.

The Strategy & Planning Director, APAC plays a central role in shaping AEG International’s regional strategy and investment priorities. This role goes beyond high‑quality analysis to provide insight, judgement, and clear recommendations that help leadership make informed decisions. Working closely with regional and global stakeholders, the role identifies risks and opportunities early, supports investment decisions across the APAC portfolio, and helps ensure AEG’s growth initiatives are commercially sound, strategically aligned, and scalable across diverse markets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Act as a strategic partner to APAC and AEG International leadership, helping shape regional strategy, frame key choices, and provide clear, actionable recommendations
• Support the prioritisation of investment decisions across APAC by evaluating and comparing projects and markets, applying consistent decision criteria, and helping leadership understand trade‑offs and risk.
• Lead financial and strategic analysis for new and existing initiatives, including business planning, forecasting, ROI, NPV, payback, and sensitivity analysis, with a focus on decision‑making.
• Support the development and performance management of existing joint ventures (including Japan and Bangkok), working with local teams to analyse results, develop KPIs, and assess what’s working, what isn’t, and why.
• Contribute to transactions and new projects beyond modelling, including input into commercial and deal structuring, JV economics, risk and incentive alignment, and scenario analysis to support negotiations with partners and stakeholders.
• Support the evaluation and development of the APAC project pipeline by identifying, assessing, and helping structure new opportunities across venues, entertainment districts, and related businesses.
• Incorporate regulatory, policy, and government considerations into project and market assessments, recognising the importance of public‑sector engagement and market‑specific risk across APAC.
• Maintain a portfolio‑level view of performance across APAC, identifying trends, emerging risks, and opportunities, and supporting strategic or operational course‑corrections where needed.
• Develop and refine shared tools, frameworks, and best practices that support consistency, scalability, and knowledge sharing across markets and with AEG International, drawing upon AEG’s best practice elsewhere where relevant
• Coordinate with internal global AEG teams (strategy, finance, legal, development) and external advisors to support due diligence, market research, and project execution.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with joint‑venture partners and key external stakeholders across the region.
• Support the preparation of materials for senior management and Board discussions, distilling complex analysis into clear messages and recommendations.
• Operate effectively across multiple concurrent priorities, using judgement to focus effort where it adds the most value, and adapt quickly as priorities evolve.
• Undertake other strategic and analytical projects as required and travel across the region when needed.

Job Description:

Business Development

* Responsible for strengthening the relationships with potential and current referring physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities, potential residence & families, and other referral sources.

Operations

* Responsible for the operations of the Home, including supervision and administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable, reimbursement, billing, intake, care delivery, utilization, data quality, order tracking, records management, admissions, discharges, etc.

* Ensures that services provided are in compliance with policies, service standards and applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for audits, satisfaction surveys and business continuity plans/measures

* Ensures that the clinical and business processes are implemented according to statutory requirements and standards.

Resource Management

* Ensures written job descriptions of all categories of staff are endorsed by management and accessible.

* Lead and coach staff, as well as attract and retain qualified health care staff, to achieve optimal staff strength.

* Direct and facilitate staff development and competencies upgrading, in-house training, including latest nursing techniques and implements new techniques or procedures where appropriate

Continuous Quality Improvement

* Implement continuous quality improvement activities with the Operations Manager and other clinical and support staff.

* Direct and participate in the collection and root cause analysis of data to identify opportunities for improvement.

* Analyses trends and changing needs of the residents in institutional settings.

* Enhance service standards and strengthen community engagement outreach

Budgets and Profitability

* Work with Director of Finance on the development of an operating and capital budget for the Home, setting forth an estimate of operating revenue, expenses, and projected capital expenditure for the next fiscal year.

* Provide budget to actual financial statements for management purposes. Prepare interim budgets as required by the Management Committee.

* Responsible for maintaining and increasing the overall profitability of the Home, managing expense, increasing revenue and obtaining reimbursement as appropriate or under contractual agreement.

* Provides accurate and complete information needed for the preparation of cost reports as required by law or certification, registration or accreditation status.

Balanced Scorecard

* Responsible for ensuring that the Nursing Home operations meet targets on the Balanced Scorecard.

* Responsible for overseeing the Balanced Scorecard and other information needed to support the operations.

* Responsible for ensuring that the information is reported to the Management Committee/Governing Body.

Requirements:

* Min Bachelor Degree in any field

* Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry. Familiarity with the ILTC sector and community resources is an advantage.

The Opportunity

Join a team building the data foundations that support the firm’s AI and analytics capabilities. This role sits within the engineering effort to develop a modern Lakehouse and AI data platform that enables reliable, well-governed and high-performing data use across the firm.

At Goldman Sachs, engineering teams are positioned at the centre of the business, building scalable systems, solving complex technical problems and turning data into action. In data engineering roles, the emphasis is on designing, building and maintaining large-scale data platforms, delivering production pipelines, improving reliability and quality, and partnering closely with users of the platform.

This is a delivery-focused role for engineers who want to build robust data assets in production, work with modern data technologies, and grow over time within the firm. You will contribute to the data models, pipelines and platform capabilities that underpin analytics, operational decision-making and emerging AI use cases, and may also help extend platform tooling where additional functionality is needed.

Role Summary

As a Data Engineer in the Lakehouse and AI Data Platform team, you will design, build, test and support data pipelines and curated datasets on the firm’s modern data platform. You will work across ingestion, transformation, modelling, optimisation and data quality, helping to deliver data products that are reliable, scalable and fit for purpose.  Where there are gaps in platform functionality, you may also contribute to shared tooling or framework components that improve how the platform is used and operated.

The role is suited to engineers who are comfortable writing code, working with SQL and distributed data processing, and solving practical delivery problems in a team environment. More experienced candidates may also contribute to technical design, platform standards and the shaping of delivery approaches across a wider set of use cases.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline Engineering

• Build, enhance and support batch and streaming data pipelines on the Lakehouse and AI data platform.
• Refactor or modernise existing data flows where needed to improve reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Where needed, build reusable tooling to improve delivery, consistency and operational support.
• Ensure data pipelines are production-ready, well tested and operationally supportable.

Data Modelling and Curation

• Develop raw, refined and curated datasets that support analytics, reporting and AI use cases.
• Apply sound data modelling principles to represent business entities, relationships and historical change accurately.
• Work with consumers to shape data products that are usable, well documented and aligned to business needs.

Data Quality and Reconciliation

• Implement controls to validate completeness, accuracy and consistency of data across pipelines and datasets.
• Use reconciliation approaches to build confidence in production outputs and investigate breaks where they arise.
• Contribute to clear standards for testing, monitoring and issue resolution.
• Contribute to practical improvements in testing, monitoring or reconciliation tooling where these strengthen platform reliability and day-to-day delivery.

Delivery and Partnership

• Work closely with engineers, platform teams and data consumers to deliver agreed outcomes to time and quality expectations.
• Communicate clearly on progress, risks, dependencies and design choices, including where delivery would benefit from improvements to shared platform tooling.
• For more senior candidates, take a broader role in technical leadership, task breakdown and support for junior engineers.

Skills and Experience

Required

• Min. 7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with evidence of strong quantitative skills or data engineering expertise.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python or Java.
• Good working knowledge of SQL, including troubleshooting, optimization and data analysis.
• Ability to learn new tools, internal platforms and delivery workflows quickly.
• Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals, including version control, testing, release discipline and CI/CD practices.

Data Engineering Capability

• Understanding of temporal data modelling, including the handling of historical state and change over time.
• Knowledge of schema design, schema evolution and data compatibility considerations.
• Understanding of partitioning, clustering and other techniques used to improve data performance at scale.
• Ability to make sensible design choices across normalized and denormalized models, and between natural and surrogate keys.
• Practical approach to data quality, reconciliation and root-cause analysis.
• Experience building or supporting production data pipelines in a collaborative engineering environment.
• Experience working with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
• Working knowledge of common data formats such as JSON, Avro and Parquet.
• Stronger ownership of technical design across multiple datasets or pipeline domains.
• Experience guiding implementation standards, code quality and engineering practices within a team.
• Ability to lead delivery for a workstream, manage dependencies and support less experienced engineers.

Technology Environment

The role will involve working with a modern and evolving data stack. Candidates are not expected to have deep expertise in every tool from day one but should bring relevant experience and the ability to work across comparable technologies.

Examples of technologies in scope include:

• Data processing and logic: ANSI SQL, Apache Spark, Kafka
• Data formats: JSON, Avro, Parquet
• Platforms and storage: Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, Databricks, Hadoop ecosystem technologies, Sybase IQ
• Engineering and deployment: CI/CD tooling, containerized or Kubernetes-based deployment approaches where relevant

You will also work with internal data management and platform tooling, so a practical and adaptable engineering mindset is important.
