ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Partnerships & Development is the primary driver of corporate and partnership fundraising for EQUAL, responsible for identifying, developing, and securing funding partnerships that support the organisation’s mission and growth.
Working closely with the CEO, the role focuses on building and converting a strong pipeline of corporate, institutional, and philanthropic partnerships, ensuring opportunities are pursued proactively and professionally.
This role sits within a lean three-person fundraising and communications team, comprising:
The Senior Manager focuses on revenue generation and partnership development, while working closely with colleagues responsible for grant management, donor stewardship, CRM discipline, and communications.
The CEO remains closely involved in major donor cultivation and high-value strategic partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Partnerships, Corporate & Philanthropic Funding (Primary Ownership)
The Senior Manager is responsible for developing and securing funding partnerships across corporate, philanthropic, and institutional partners that align with EQUAL’s mission and programmes.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying and developing corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and CSR collaborations
- Building relationships with family offices, philanthropic foundations, and private donors whose giving priorities align with EQUAL’s work
- Developing tailored partnership proposals and sponsorship packages
- Conducting outreach and relationship cultivation with prospective partners
- Managing partnership discussions and funding negotiations
- Supporting CEO and Board engagement with high-potential partners
- Securing financial partnerships that may include programme funding, sponsorships, multi-year support, or strategic collaborations
- Maintaining an active pipeline of corporate, philanthropic, and institutional funding opportunities
2. Partnership Pipeline Development
Develop and manage a disciplined pipeline of potential partners and funding opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying new corporate, philanthropic, and institutional prospects
- Maintaining a clear pipeline of partnership opportunities with defined next steps
- Preparing briefing notes ahead of donor meetings for the CEO and senior leadership
- Following up promptly after meetings to move opportunities forward
- Collaborating with the Manager, Grants & Stewardship to ensure pipeline tracking in the CRM
3. Strategic Fundraising Campaigns & Initiatives
Support the design and execution of key fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting anchor fundraising campaigns (e.g. seasonal campaigns or flagship fundraising initiatives)
- Identifying sponsorship opportunities linked to events or programmes
- Working with internal teams to align partnership opportunities with programme impact
- Ensuring corporate engagement opportunities are strategically structured
4. Major Donor & High-Value Partnerships
- Work closely with the CEO on cultivating high-potential donors and partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting preparation of proposals, briefing notes, and materials for major donor engagements
- Assisting in the development of strategic partnership proposals
- Coordinating follow-up and next steps after senior-level donor meetings
- Supporting multi-year partnership discussions where relevant
- The CEO typically leads the relationship management of major donors and strategic partners.
5. Fundraising Events & Donor Engagement
Support the development of donor engagement events and fundraising moments.
Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the strategy and objectives of fundraising events
- Identifying potential sponsors and partners for events
- Engaging potential donors through curated experiences or programme visits
- Supporting donor engagement and follow-up after events
- Operational coordination of events will be supported by internal teams.
6. Cross-Team Collaboration
The Senior Manager works closely with colleagues across the fundraising and communications team to ensure coordinated execution.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
8–10 years of relevant experience in partnerships, fundraising, business development, or corporate engagement
Demonstrated experience securing corporate partnerships or sponsorships
Experience working with senior stakeholders and organisational leadership
Experience in nonprofit fundraising or CSR partnerships is an advantage
